Be careful of what you say Even if you did delete the private message that would not stop the other person from receiving it. -
Inappropriate?DalekKiller is right. There is currently no process for removing messages or tweets. If enough people want this ability, we will make it a feature in a future release.

If it is not too bold for me to say so, I would not mind this functionality. -
I don't care about deleting messages/tweets I send, but I would like to delete the private messages that others send to me - like the ones from TwinkleKing. -
Inappropriate?:) I would too. We'll add it to our prospective list. Thanks for the input.

Count me in as well, I'd love to be able to delete old messages so it looks tidier. -
guess it didn't make 1.2, why wouldn't this be a feature (deleting direct messages), i'm stuck looking at some of these dumb comments from twinkleking in that feed forever. -
Inappropriate?I have to say, in 1.2, even after you block someone, their direct message still sits in your queue, you can't delete it, and it comes back the next time you start the program, no matter how offensive it is. I've had this random spam in my direct messages i get to look at every time the program starts that wont go away.. why wasn't a simple delete button made in the direct messages?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I'm loving the update but am also surprised that there isn't a delete function for private messages as I've also got some offensive messages that need deleting. Can this be added to a future update?
I’m annoyed
-
Inappropriate?Like Dan, I have a pornographic image and obscene message that was sent directly to me. I can't delete the message and now cannot let me children and grandchildren touch me phone. I REALLY want a delete button.
I’m upset
-
Inappropriate?Just curious, but how many people need to say that we *really* want to be able to delete private messages in order for it to be considered important enough to make it into a release?
I’m irritated
-
Inappropriate? Not having this is a show stopper now that I've received unacceptable (and unsolicited) vulgar private messages.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I agree, and I've removed Twinkle until they upgrade it to allow users to delete private messages. Twinkle's great in general but, as you said, this major functionality omission is a show stopper for me, too.
I’m Tired of waiting.
-
Inappropriate?Me too, I've moved over to another app that allows me to delete messages. I was under the impression that the update would allow only followers to PM, instead, it seems that anyone can send me a private message.
I’m fed up
-
Inappropriate?I, too, have removed Twinkle until the option for private message deletion is included.
I’m using a different program now
-
Inappropriate?I'm sorry to see you guys go. I will definitely let you know when we can get this into twinkle!
I’m excited about updates
-
Inappropriate?I too would like to delete private messages. Just like the others I have received private messages from people I am not following and would like to get ride of them.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?EVERYONE WOULD LIKE THAT UPDATE TO OCCUR LIKE YESTERDAY, the whole user interface is clumsy and with very little interactive choices. People would like to keep their old messages cleaned up and deleted, just like you view your EMail, view, then delete. So when do you expect this update to occur? Thanks :)
-
Thanks. We're aware this is needed. Twinkle is undergoing some work, this is part of it. -
Inappropriate?I'd like to delete private messages as well, but even more importantly I'd like it to stop telling me I have new messages when I've already read them.
I'm giving up on Twinkle too, but it's not just because of this: landscape mode is annoying and cannot be disabled, there's no way to edit who's in my friends panel (which looks to just be other twinkle users), that I can't follow people in Twinkle (there's an error about Twinkle profiles, and I have to go to the Twitter site to follow someone) the little "t" icons on every Tweet, the terminology change to "pings" (I think it was update before), but mostly because I can no longer post to Twitter and there wasn't any kind of error telling me my posts weren't visible on Twitter. When your Twitter client can't post to Twitter, it's deserving of an error message.
I’m missing Twinkle 1.0 and wishing I could go back
-
Inappropriate?Ditto all of the above. Genius idea, but unbelievable to me that months of user complaints/requests would go by without any action towards solution. If a fraction of Twinkle's audience is requesting vocally, the masses are undoubtedly frustrated as well. TTR is the obvious priority, so forget the market share in another category...
I’m frustrated

Jeremy - we are aware this is needed in Twinkle. We're all looking forward to the next update. -
Inappropriate?ya i would like the ability to delete private messages
I’m waiting for this feature to be added
-
Inappropriate?I too will probably delete twinkle until this has been resolved. Particularly since looking at this post shows that this has been a complaint for at least 8 months, with no resolution. This gives me no confidence that the company really cares about what the people want.....................
