How to Direct Msg on Twinkle?
How do I send a direct message to someone on Twinkle and it not be in the public timeline? I am getting what I presume DMs from people but don't want to reply in case it goes out to everyone.
Am I on glue that I cannot figure out how to direct msg someone?

Inappropriate?RIght now you can only DM in response to someone -- click their ping, and in the page that follows there's a "Send Private Message" button (or, if you're replying to a direct message of theirs, you can hit the "Reply" button in the top right)
This limitation is being changed in the next version of Twinkle, but for now the rule of thumb is this: if the message bubble is blue, it's a private direct message. If the bubble is yellow or purple, it's public. -
Inappropriate?Thanks for the fast reply. I am using the Twinkle app from the App Store and don't see a Send Private Msg button. The path I followed was I clicked on their ping as you directed and the page that follows is displayed below. Clicking on the arrow in the top right only takes you to the public response screen.

Inappropriate?Ahah-- sorry, I'd made an assumption that you were DMing someone you were already friends with. You have to Follow a person before you DM them. Right now there are a couple of bugs around Following, but suffice to say that if they appear in your Home screen, you can DM them.

Inappropriate?This does work, but I need to re-follow people that i've already followed on Twitter.com! They appear on my home screen but there's still the follow button. This is really messy.

I've found this problem as well, everything's fine in Twitter but I sometimes find I get the follow button on Twinkle for people I'm already following -
Inappropriate?A couple of bugs??? I keep getting DMs from people assuming I'm some sort of Twitter oracle (which I'm not) and it's really starting to hack me off. I've already had to protect my updates to get rid of the spammers now I' m being hassled by idiots who want to ask how does this work/can I do this type questions. I'm hoping this will be fixed in the update so that only my followers can DM me especially as I'm not able to just DM someone out of the blue (no pun intended!)

Inappropriate?Please, please, please get the update out soon. I thought that by protecting my updates, I would get some privacy but I'm being hassled by a new person that I just said "hi" to who keeps sending me DMs wanting to know my age.
