iPhone OS 3.0.1
For unknown reasons, my gameplay in the past week or two was much better than previously, and then just as suddenly it got much worse (possibly the worst ever for lag and dropped taps). I foolishly didn't pay any attention to whether the sudden decrease in playability coincided with installing 3.0.1.
For people who have installed the newest OS (3.0.1), have you noticed it affecting gameplay in TTR2.6? I'm wondering if that's the culprit.

Inappropriate?I didn't notice any change with 3.0.1 but it wouldn't surprise me IF some of the issues are related to memory management - especially the file system. Maybe installing the new version defragmented memory a little & it took a week or so for fragmentation to become an issue again.5 Comments

Today, in addition to my crappy crappy game play, I also noticed that my data had become corrupted recently. You know how in the song list, it shows what your best game was for each song you've played? Well, my top scores there didn't exist in my scores list at the end of the songs. Some songs had nothing listed in my scores list even though I've played multiple times. So I figured that was the last straw. The only reason I hadn't tried deleting and reinstalling the game was because I'd wanted to keep my data.
So I killed TTR and started from scratch. And lo and behold, the game seems even worse now. I was hoping either the reinstall or having far fewer songs loaded would help, but nope.
It's so bad now I could just cry. Playing offline seem worse now than playing online used to be. I don't even dare to try to see what online play would be like.
Why do the Tapulous gods hate me so? -
someone is having a bad day. Seems like with 3.0 more problems than just the arrows are revealing themselves every day.

Alas, if only it were just a day that were bad. I sure wish I knew what had gone right during the recent week or two when my TTR was suddenly working well so that I could try to replicate it.

I've reinstalled more than once & lost all my scores too - all for nothing. These are bad bugs for sure & I'm not convinced it's entirely the fault of OS 3.0. I have no other apps that behave badly but I probably do spend more time in TTR than most others. TTR also makes use of a lot more of the hardware than most other single apps.
Leftfield seems to be kicking butt with the beta 3.1 versions of the OS, so let's hope that & the next version of TTR work right. Really sucks to have to wait until September though!
PS. I sure hope we can Import our high scores from the leaderboards with the next version of TTR! -
Each day is worse than the last. Playing offline in medium, I only had one game out of 10 that didn't drop a tap. In MEDIUM. OFFLINE.
The withdrawal is so fierce I'm considering therapy.
BTW, bufulo, I think I saw Ed post somewhere that your leaderboards are going to be on Tapulous servers on the next release, so you don't lose them if you reinstall. Hmmm . . . or maybe that was the "carrier achievements." Well, let's hope for both.
