I play Tap Tap Revenge in public transports. And it looks really daft, when I always shake my Mobile.
So, please please please remove the Arrow in online play mode.
Also it ́s nearly impossible to hit the exact timeframe for theese arrows (iPhone 3GS / OS3.0).

But it should be optional..just like with offline play it wouldn't make much difference if it was online, as long as you get the same score -

Inappropriate?Asking to take out arrows because you would look silly in public is the stupidest reason to make such a request.
With the way most people play TTR, you would look funny just by tapping.

yes it looks funny anyway... just make the arrows a bit "better" (they register too early and when you have 3 arrows in a row and shake they all disappear at once - sometimes... )

yeah, that's not a reason, but maybe they should disable arrows in online mode temporarily, while the dropped arrows problem is fixed in OS 3.0. I know this is a headache for many ppl.

Or, just play online in a private spot, and play single player while you're in the public transit.
