Send Tapulous Your Crash Logs
First of all -- we would like to thank everyone for reporting all the bugs, problems, suggestions, and ideas for all of our apps. It's your feedback that guides our development and updates.
If you're experiencing frequent (or even infrequent) crashes, it really helps us out to see the crash log. Anything you are able to send us helps us diagnose, solve, and update our apps faster and make things better for everyone.
To get the logs --
1. Sync your iPhone or iPod Touch
2. During the sync, the log files will be transferred to your computer. Here is how you locate them on each platform:
Mac: /Users/(Your User Folder)/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/(Your iPhone Name)
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\
Windows Vista: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\\
You'll see files that look like this --
Twinkle_2009-01-06-161902_localhost.crash
Twinkle_2009-01-06-161902_localhost.plist
Zip up those files and send them to submissions@tapulous.com. We really appreciate it!!

Inappropriate?I've got some crash reports for you. Too bad they are at my dads house and I'm not... I'll send them soon! By the way, what are those .plish files?
-
It's just a summary of your device info. -
So do I also have to send these files? -
If possible, but they're not as important. -
200?! :o -
Got em. Thanks ;) -
Inappropriate?Just sent all of my logs from 2009, Would have done it sooner but had no idea I could.
I’m amused

Inappropriate?My Crash Logs :
http:// uploading.com/files/8YJ5QP4T/CrashLogs TTR2 (in Mac OS X).zip.html
(remove the space after http:// only, overs are corrects) -
it might be because "application data" is a hidden folder. when u have a folder browser window open (just open any folder), click on tools --> folder options. then click on the view tab. click "show hidden files and folders" and hit OK. you should be able to find your crash logs now. -
Inappropriate?soon, don't worry, they fixed this with dance when it first came out, they'll do it again with TTR2
I’m confident
-
I hope so, my friends won't play online with me until you guys make a fix for this. But either way love the game, I was up till 12:30 playing and would have stayed up later if the game (and I) didn't crash -
Inappropriate?oh and Ed I'm gonna have y article up soon, gotta finish a little work though. Also gotta post some article about a Queen track pack coming to guitar hero.
-
Inappropriate?I'm getting a lot of the really short crash logs that give no trace but just say 'about to jettison' and give a list of active apps. Am i right in thinking there are of no use to you, as they appear to give no debug that would help you find the fault?
-
It's possible, but send them anyway if you can. Sometimes little things hide bigger things. -
Inappropriate?Sent all 1,672 of those files. Hopefully they can be of some use.
-
Inappropriate?Hi, one more time, i've sent my TTR2 CrashLogs. :-p
To help developpers !
Ed ;-) -
Inappropriate?Going to send mine today, should be alot of those files by now =P.
-
Inappropriate? How do I zip them on Mac? I know how on PC but not on my mac. Is there a program for that on mac?
-
Hi Alex,
To compress them on a Mac assuming you already made a folder of them, control click the folder>click compress crashlogs (or whatever the folder is called) then attach the .zip into the email. -
Inappropriate?sent 46 logs
-
Inappropriate? What do u do when u barely crash? ill still send them !
-
what? -
Inappropriate?Hey ed Don't apple forward bug reports to The developers?
everytime I connect my Iphone and Ipod it sends some reports but what happens to them? -
Yeah, no reason to duplicate this stuff... unless it means bugs get fixed faster... :)
What happens if you don't forward the bug reports via iTunes by unchecking that box? Is there a way to re-enable that option? Mine was not doing this until the 3.0 (or maybe latest iTunes) update.
PS. I noticed that if you send the crash stuff to Apple via iTunes, the *.plist files are deleted, leaving only the *.crash files. -
Yes those get sent, but its a LOT more helpful if you send them to us, and note what you were doing when it crashed. Like "I was playing online, and it crashed right after finishing the song.." or something to that effect... -
Inappropriate? What I want to know is why I don't get ANY crash reports. The last TTR crash report is dated January despite LOTS of crashes since, including a few with Apple OS 3.0.
My wife's phone finally generated a few of the log files with OS 2.2.1 & TTR 2.6.1. I'll send those off.
PS. I just synced & actually did finally get a crash report. I've had lots, but one report is better than none. This is with a 3GS, Apple OS 3.0, & TTR 2.6.1. Sent that in as well. Hope it helps... soon... -
there are crash logs saved...... everytime you sync it puts them someware in you computer (I remember finding them by accident) then when theres enough it asks if you can send them off to apple to help ...but you dont notice them untill u get the box appearing -
I didn't get any crash logs since 01-25-2009 until I upgraded to Apple OS 3.0 (or maybe a recent iTunes update). Now they seem to be working again. iTunes seems to ask to send them every time I Sync. It also deletes the *.plist file & leaves the *.crash file. -
" someware in you computer " do you even read the questions/ideas/ when you comment on them? -
yeah... But i read it yesterday... cba reading it again
