We took an additional step over the weekend to remove any images that were loaded to S3 during the S3 outage, as clients that attempted to download these were often the ones that crashed. This should fix the problem for many users, although a reinstall will be necessary to clear your local cache of corrupted images. We are working hard with Apple to get a 1.1. build out to our users as soon as possible

Hi there, this is a known issue with avatar images. We're pushing a fix to the app store very soon, I apologize!

Inappropriate? Are you getting any type of error message when it crashes? What exactly happens when it crashes?

however i know my image is loading just fine, and its showing others images, but just crashes! and the appstore is addressing the issue? does this mean itll be a week? -
The only way app is usable for me is to keep the range narrow... otherwise when someone posts with problem avatar I'm locked out until enough posts (within that range) have been made to scroll offending image off screen ... only then can I change to a smaller range ...
So when is fix coming? -
Inappropriate?no error messages. to be more exact in my description i started the app several times starting at about 3 pm. it autoboots to the messages page. works fine there and on the friends page. on the nearby page it attempts to locate, and once it posts the messages exits the app with out saying anything.

Inappropriate?This is what happens.
1- I open the app after a fresh start of my 3G iPhone.
2- I tap the "near by" button at the bottom of the screen.
3- Screen loads and shows messages from nearby users.
4- Count to 3 and there is a black screen.
5- The App crashed I guess cus now I'm looking at the iPhone screen and the app icon.
Every time.
Right after a fresh reinstall too.
Help..............

Inappropriate? It's unfortunate, this is an awesome app that has climbed its way to the top of social apps and because of this bug, and how long it is taking to fix. It will be short lived.
I’m dissapointed

I get that in my Documents folder in the cache of Twinkle... I wonder why... -
Inappropriate?July 25th is hopefully the release of 1.1 which fixes the bugs. Keep Twinkle on your iPhone and it should let you know to update through the app store.
-
Inappropriate? So now the "near by" loads and works but every screen other that that crashes the app. Strange........
Could it just be my 3G iPhone?? Don't think so.
Well I hope this info helps someone fix it.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Just tried the app again and replied to a message and oop... the app crashed. What gives?

Inappropriate? If you are still having the problem. It is most likely your own profile picture that is corrupt. If your client crashes on the identity page, then thats a sign your profile is corrupt. Click the help button as fast as you can and it will bring you to a web page that will allow you to delete your profile. That fixed the problem for me.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? After 4 re-installs of Twinkle and two restores of my iPhone the Twinkle app keeps crashing over and over and over again. I see a LOT of others are having the same issue as well. This just started happening to me tonight but I have seen others complaining about it for a few days now.
I'm afraid I will no longer be able to suggest this app to any of my contacts and will not be able to use it anymore until this bug is fixed. Most of my Twitter contacts are tired of the crashes are are leaving Twinkle for other Twitter iPhone apps, and I don't think most of them will be back.
It's a shame because this app has a lot of potential, but people cannot be expected to wait for the slow Apple approval process to get a fix online in the app store and most of the people that leave will get used to other apps and not return. I know you are aware of the issue and plan to have a fix out on the 25th. But I know of another Twitter client developer who has an update waiting to be approved to get online in the app store for over a week now so I don't expect the Twinkle update to be available in the store before the end of the month. Let's hope I am wrong.
I have not totally given up though and will check back next week to see if the service has improved.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?This is terrible.
By far the best Twitter client I have ever seen, and I can't use it. The coolest feature is the location-enabled tab, and it's the one that crashes my device. Please fix!

There is a patch that will fix the avatar related crash. I believe it should go live on the 28th. Unfortunately, Apple's approval process for new patches is taking around two weeks. Even for critical patches like this one. Try deleting your profile like I described above. -
Tried, didn't work. -
