twinkle showing protected updates of a user I'm not following
kind of an involved situation. i was following my girlfriend on twitter, all her updates are protected. I could read them on both twitter and twinkle. We broke up and I decided, well, I'll let her have her privacy, so I stopped following her. Twitter.com no longer shows her updates. but twinkle does. help?
I've updated twinkle on the phone (I was running an older version), I've deleted twinkle and reinstalled it. I still see the updates.

Inappropriate?so, apparently twinkle has its own idea of who I'm following and who I'm not? It seems odd that it only adds people on the twinkle side -- when I start following someone on twitter their updates show up in twinkle. When I stop following them on twitter, I have to click a special "Stop Following" button in twinkle? who thinks this is a good idea?
anyway, problem solved.

Here's whats happening, twinkle caches the messages on your phone. So when you unfollow someone in twitter, it knows, but it still has those cached messages in memory. So, the messages of the person you've un-followed will remain until they are pushed downward.
When you push stop following, it removes their messages from view immediately. -
Inappropriate?they weren't just old messages that had come in before I stopped following her on twitter. I continued to get new messages (I had gotten one 20 minutes before I added this problem to the db, and I stopped following over a week ago).
It *may* be that the updates were limited to those she was adding from twinkle. I don't know (and can no longer tell). But regardless, the twitter setting wasn't being respected.3 Comments Add a comment
