Twitter DMs are public in Twinkle Timeline!
I just sent a direct twitter message to a user via the messages screen (using the standard d username message format) and it was sent correctly as a DM on twitter, but it also put that message in the PUBLIC twinkle timeline. which means, any twinkle user could see it!
Luckily this was not a very personal message, but this is a serious issue. At least warn users DMs don't work as intended.
Also, it seems that my messages get tagged with location data even though I have my "broadcast location" setting turned off. I don't want messages in the Twinkle timeline showing my location.

Inappropriate? In 1.0 of Twinkle the "d + username + tweet" is not supported. We updated the description of the app in the AppStore to state this. In the meantime, we are working on a 1.1 release over the next few days that will fix this and other issues. Huge apologies to you for the experience that you had.

Inappropriate? The issue with location showing in the Twinkle timeline we can't seem to reproduce in the office (either by selecting "off" broadcast my location or toggling the location in the post screen). We will keep trying as our user privacy is very important to us.

Inappropriate?Another problem is, that it is currently impossible to start a new "private" conversation in the messages view. You always have to have a tweet/ping to start replying as a private message. That is of course an absolute desaster. In the GUI is no way to make that clear. So what we do - of course - is to write twitter style: Go to Messages, start a new message and type in "d name text". This seems to work on the twitter side, but not on the Twinkle side.
So please fix this and give us a way to write a NEW private message, when we don't have a tweet/ping to start up.
Some Adobe Air apps display a small autocompletion popup with a list of the people you follow. Twittelator displays these names in a selection wheel. Or just add a "to"-field on top of the message bubble which we can top on and select the recipient.
it is also very unclear that a message started in the messages view is a PUBLIC message, unless it is started via reply from a ping/tweet.
So, overall, the system for writing private messages is completely broken.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Garrett, OK, we're making this this a top priority.
