What technically causes dropped taps?
Krohn explained it once, but I can't recall the post.

To clarify those points:
1. You tap outside of the tap zone, tap the case, accidentally double tap, or do something to cause the hardware to misinterpret your actions, ie. Release a hold and tap a tapper simultaneously can make the hardware react like you slid your finger across the area.
2. On Extreme tracks, when two tappers in adjacent rows are near simultaneous, and your reaction to the first is both slightly late and inside of an overlapped tap area, the game logic will sometimes assign the first tap to the second tapper. Though you are still within the grace period for the first tapper the game assumes that your first tap was intended for the next tapper to reach the tap line. You can compensate by tapping slightly sooner, playing far wider with outside lanes, or waiting for the next release which hopefully will have added the single line of code that's in my head that would fix the issue but not affect the way the game plays for people who need the tap zones to overlap.
Also, to avoid issues from occuring too often, plug in instead of using battery power. Game response time improves, and little 'hiccups' that have thrown off perfectly timed taps will disappear, thus improving your score.

Inappropriate?According to krohn 2 things:
1. Human Error
2. The system in the iDevice being slow
This is what I remember... -
Inappropriate?I've found that sometimes it's part human error and part system. Like if you don't hit it perfectly, it should still register as like a 50 or 75 x(whatever multiplier you have) but instead it just drops it, in a "If not perfect, than not at all" type system ... :(

Inappropriate?I agree with ya, but you asked what krohn said..... so there it is.
My belief is way different. -
