My children (14 & 15) bought me a birthday present from a local Target store on June 2nd. My birthday was June3 16th. They had bought me an IED01 from ION which has less then steller reviews. When I had setup the drum set one of the bolts broke and then one of the heads didnt work and then the foot pedal doesnt work. I wanted to do a exchange and knowing kids they lost the reciept. I was told that there was nothing Target could do about it. I then got a computer print out showing the we actually purchased it from the store. The manager of the store stated I just need to get the VCD#. I then called "customer relations" this morning and they told me there was nothing they could do and even if they could get me the VCD I would still need the actual reciept. Which I find interesting because I have more information in front of me then if I had payed with a credit card and still no help. I have been a long standing purchaser of Target products and when I state that to Target they have stated "Oh Well". This is rediculous... I am stuck with a $250 product that doesnt work and I can't even sale it because again it doesnt work.
This doesn't always have to be about problems or concerns you have with Target. If you were "wowed" by someone at your recent visit to a Target store, share that with the corporation as positive feedback, and let them know what they're doing RIGHT, as well as where they could improve.
I read this quote in the NY Times today, from a Bay Area mom frustrated by not being able to find a Wii for her daughter's Christmas present:
“I’ve also been to Target,” she said, but when she asked for a Wii, she felt like the employees were mocking her. “I’ve received the smirks and the laughs.”
