Open Invitation to Target Corporation (sent via email)
I'm writing to inform you that a small group of Target customers have banded together at GetSatisfaction.com, a customer-driven website that aims at directly communicating with businesses and companies. Target is among other great companies like Google, Pandora, YouTube, and more.
As a former Target employee, I think this is a great opportunity for Target to directly work with customers to resolve complaints as well as broadcast news, ideas, and information to interested Target customers.
Please, take a moment to visit about what I and other Target shoppers have to say about YOU.

Inappropriate?Nicely done! You do that better than I do, I think. I'll add my voice to this call for participation.
I’m impressed

Inappropriate?Curtis: We liked your letter to Target so much we had to blog about it: http://blog.getsatisfaction.com/2008/...
Thanks again!

Inappropriate? Thanks for taking the time to write a whole article on why GetSatisfaction.com is so important to survival of businesses in the ever-adapting business models of today. No longer can a company sit idle and pretend their customers are satisfied. Now, they can know in REAL TIME from REAL PEOPLE. No more wasted money on surveys that your customers might never fill out. Surveys will never be as dynamic and connected as GetSatisfaction has already become.
One recommendation, however, is if GetSatisfaction could have "sub groups" of a corporation so shoppers could discuss directly about one store, rather than the whole company; but then go up a level and talk broadly about the company if they wish.

Hey, good idea. I suppose as we grow we'll want to segment this out for brick-and-mortar stores. -
curtis, good point. though we don't have any plans on the roadmap yet, we definitely recognize there's a retail/geo element to some of what we're doing that we'll need to figure out in the future. -
Inappropriate?Dear Curtis and other Target goers,
Don't know which store you visited, or if Target has changed their retun policy in the last few months, but I think people need to know what they are all about. According to the corporate headquarters of Target they will no longer take back, exchange or credit anything over $35.00 without a receipt. I am holding onto a $250.00 gift that I can only get $35.00 for. I have contacted Target by phone and letters. Their final resolution is "It is what it is". Walmart here I come! -
Inappropriate?I would like to know WHERE you found the email addresses as I have been unable to get ahold of any corporate emails. I would like to voice a complaint about what appears to be bait and switch on the past of Target. Several times in the past 1 1/2 yrs, I have tried to purchase an advertised item (2 specifically from the home and garden area). I have gone to the store the same day as the ad came out, only to find that the were "out". But of course, they did have PLENTY of a similar item in stock, which were also more expensive. The one time, I was given a rain check, but was told that they had no idea when the item would be in stock, and that when the item DID arrive, one would NOT be set aside for me. I was told that no one would call me, and that it was my responsibility to spend my time to constantly check back, and get there before they were sold out again. I personally have had it with this, and won't even bother to check their flyers, because I won't be a customer and longer!
Thanks for the opportunity to vent! -
