Email Status Notifications.
It would be great to get a success or failure email could be sent upon completion. So that I can no if a work flow complete from my phone and it status.

Inappropriate?Hi damon,
Nice idea! We will keep it in mind during the error report revamp we are doing.
VR -
Inappropriate? There is no error report to revamp as far as I can tell. All of my workflows work sometimes and then don't and then do and then don't and then do.....
I have no idea. I've never seen a "beta" product that had NOTHING for error message. A number or something. "Not Completed" is the "error report" that is being revamped. It has made the system stunningly unreliable. You had a great idea. I'm surprised you have anymore "customers" to do your testing.
evidently no one is using this seriously, or even semi-seriously.
If the only statement is 6 six months ago, thats just pitiful. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your valuable feedback Tim,
First, although we have planned a better error reporting we didn't yet have the needed resources to finish it, along with other planned features.
Second, we've been having some complains about e-mail messages being sent and doing nothing so it's something that we're looking into.
Also, what do you suggest would appear as an error message whenever an e-mail message arrives at tarpipe but the intended workflow doesn't start?
Again, thanks for your report on this. -
Inappropriate?I would love to see the Status reports that are on the status page emailed to me.
ie
Step 1 <
> Success
Step 2 <
>Success
Step 3 <
> failure <<reason>>
This would then give me the feed back I need to to confirm my workflow either completed or not.
As for the problem of emailed not triggering workflows then if we get a responce back when a work flow was run then no responce would mean the workflow did not trigger.
Also having an option to have a email sent back to the incoming adress indicating your email was recieved and X workflow has been started would also help with workflows that take longer to start.
</reason>

Inappropriate?I certainly agree with damon. Just to get something out there, don't worry about formatting it in XML.
Surely there is a log file or something.
Ideally, each connector could write its input values to the log, then output values, or an error message.
I'd say just a whatever log/error information is already there (something must be there, how could you figure out problems reported here?)
If resources is the issue, ask for volunteers. Have them sign non-disclosure contacts, you can use it or reject it. Several studies have shown that other incentives than money work better. Offer t-shirts, official recognition in the about box, free year, month or whatever when the business model is settled on or whatever it is. -
Inappropriate?Thanks for the feedback Tim,
In that screenshot something went wrong while publishing to Evernote.
How would you feel if we added a description to whatever happened when we tried to publish to Evernote?
We could add a "why?" link after the text "not completed". After you click you'll see verbose error messages. How does it sound?

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?Well the screenshot did in fact make it into evernote. I never got the text back or any email back. Still, I can buy that something went wrong with evernote. And yes, a "why?" link would be perfect. It may be something I'm doing wrong or something I could work around. That would thrill me to no end. Seriously.
Thanks for listening and sorry I was an a**... ;(
