RestDecoder or something seems not to be working
When I use the bookmarklet that was mentioned here http://blog.tarpipe.com/2009/02/16/ta... and add my REST API I get a broken link message in the pop up. It worked fine last night but when I clicked on it this morning it didn't.
Now it could be something to do with the bookmarklet but it worked last night and now it doesn't. Strange.

Inappropriate?Hi James,
I've just created a new bookmarklet right now, created a new workflow and used the bookmarklet without any problems.
Do you see the message immediately after clicking on the bookmarklet or after clicking on the "pipe" button inside the form?
Thanks for the feedback. -
Inappropriate?Actually no. It seems to be thinking for a while and then poops out. I'll try starting from scratch and see if it starts working again.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Still didn't work. I wonder if it's because I am using Chrome 2.0.172.8. I wonder if it's acting up.
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?I couldn't get the bookmarklet to work at all on IE8 and when I tried it on Firefox I got "The server at rest.receptor.tarpipe.net is taking too long to respond."
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I'm not aware of any connectivity issues right now and I've used the bookmarklet twice and it seems to be working.
Also, nothing changed since yesterday so I really don't see what might be originating that problem.
Can you post the bookmarklet code here (without your API token, of course)?
Thanks again. -

Inappropriate?Just tried your bookmarklet code (which is exactly like mine, except for the API key): created a bookmark on my bookmarks bar with it, opened some page, clicked on it, clicked on the "pipe" button and it responded immediately with the message "Not found." because the API key is not valid.
I'd love to be able to help you but really can't get it to fail like you're describing. It seems that you can't even reach our server.
Please try to open this URL on your browser and see if you get back the message "Not found.": http://rest.connector.tarpipe.net:8000/
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?I think you have solved the problem in a round about kind of way. I bet port 8000 is being blocked by my company's firewall. Same code worked from home which doesn't have the same level of security.
I’m amused
-
Inappropriate?Makes sense.
In that case, try this URL instead of the one being used now: http://api.tarpipe.net/1.0/
Just change the current URL inside the bookmarklet code.
Let me know how it worked. -
Inappropriate? That one did the trick. Thank you so much. I love this service and I am in the process of writing a few blog posts about how I use it to keep my life simple. :)
Thank again.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? No problem, we're here to help.
That would be great. I'm looking forward to reading your blog posts.
Thanks for all the feedback.
