Milestones usability
In the list of milestones I would like to be able to click on the milestone to see tasks inside it.
Considering that I wouldn't expect to have too many milestones in the same time (the very next one and the second next), maybe a list of tasks/most recent tasks assigned to that milestone might appear under the milestone name, without me having to click on "Assigned items: n task" and then choose the task I'm interested in from there.

The ability to click on a milestone to get to its assigned items is a neat idea and we'll consider it.
Listing the items connected to a milestone might clutter the page, but we'll think about maybe open a panel underneath the milestone to show its assignments.
