Yet Another MyFacedIn?
What is TechEntreprise? To me, it just looks like a slimmed-down facebook/linkedin mashup... Am I missing the point?

Well with Facebook, you have to delve in and you need to be able to see what are the most relevant groups or events.
I'm inviting you to come join us at the next StartupDrinks
Here is a report of the last one by the way http://montrealtechwatch.com/2009/03/...
The next one is due Apr 29th at Brutopia, it will be listed soon on TechEntreprise (or also on montrealtechwatch)
The Gazette also has an article about TechEntreprise
http://communities.canada.com/montrea...
you should see TechEntreprise as a tool to find talent, to connect with more entrepreneurs and investors, and to see who is really doing startups with the system of votes and recommendaitons

TechEntreprise allows you to see local technology events. You can't do that in LinkedIn or Facebook.
You can also see local tech entrepreneurs in Montreal. You can't do that in Facebook or LinkedIn

Inappropriate?TechEntreprise is for Montréalers and Canadians entrepreneurs in technology.
How did you discover techentreprise by the way?
I’m confident

Inappropriate?I understand your "pitch" but what I'm really asking is this:
If I'm a tech-entrepreneur in Montreal and I've spent X amount of time building a linkedin/facebook network... Why start over here? What is the REAL added value?
P.S.: I discovered it through twitter or identi.ca. -

Inappropriate?Dont worry, I'm not trying to put you down or anything... I'm just trying to see clearly. And maybe help you make your product more enticing. My point was, in Facebook... I CAN see local technology events and local tech entrepreneurs given I join the right groups and install the right apps.
From what I understand TechEntreprise is there to group specific tech- industry centric subjects and tools in a centralized way, to be more specifically compliant with a tech-entrepreneur's needs and wants. This would definitely remove the overhead of configuring some other service to do what it's not supposed to do. -

Inappropriate?Well thank you, and again please note that I'm just trying to help and I encourage you in your endeavors.
One major aspect of your company that I can vouch for is this conversation right here. I mean, you're quick to reply and very interested about people's opinions... and I hope you can maintain some reasonable level of responsiveness like this as your company grows and evolves (which I have no doubt it will do).
Thank you, and I MIGHT be at StartupDrinks but. you know... being in a startup myself... a lot of times work comes first. -
Inappropriate?Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated, and I think it's because I supposed visitors and users knew all about montrealtechwatch
One thing that can be done is explain this more clearly on TechEntreprise so that people like you won't be confused next time. This would fit well on the frontpage, and people could understand in a glimpse the advantages and what's in it for them
Thanks again for the feedback
