Blog claiming is taking FOREVER!
We are working hard to drastically speed up the blog claim review process, which is currently taking far, far too long. Claiming your blog again is not necessary; we will process the existing claims as fast as we can.
You can see other known issues on the right-hand side of the main Technorati page here on GetSatisfaction. If you get a "Page Not Found" error when claiming your blog, it means it's already in process. Editing blog info is also broken and being worked on.

Inappropriate? Why are my blogs shown as claimed yet do not appear in the blog directory? Puzzled...
http://pppatty.blogspot.com -
Patty, did you find out why? After a month my blog was finally claimed but I can't find it now anywhere on Technorati. This is the message I get:
Welcome to the new Technorati.com! The page requested was not found. It's possible you reached this page because we forgot to update a link on the previous version of our site. We have recorded this event and will be doing our best to repair any broken links.
Any luck with yours? Did it just take some time? -
Inappropriate?Hi - really frustrating that I have no idea whether my blog claim is going to work or not. I suspect I did it wrong! In which case I would love a chase to restart my claim. It has been a month now! http://www.carolineno.com/
Please help! I have already posted on the support board and it seems really bizarre there is nobody to help with this!
Thanks.
Caroline.
I’m SO frustrated.
-
Inappropriate?TechnoEric could you give us an idea of how long it is currently taking? I think I made an error on the RSS feed info and don't want to let that keep things from moving forward. Thanks!

Inappropriate?I am also SERIOUSLY frustrated with the claiming process. When I started my blog I claimed it, (http://www.accidentalolympian.typepad...), and now I am trying to remove the .typepad version and claim my new version (http://www.accidentalolympian.com) but nothing is working.
I have tried to claim the new version probably 6 times now. I keep trying to delete the .typepad version and even that button doesn't work!
Ages ago I added the code required to a post and it went live through my feed. This was right before you switched to the new Technorati version and everything broke down. Will blogs that attempted to claim before the switch be lost?
Do you all have any time frame at all for when we'll be back to a working order?
I ask because I don't want to keep posting things with weird code in it only to have months go by without anything. My readers are going to think I have seriously lost my mind.
Thanks...
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Same thing. 5 days guys? I'm with Squarespace. Any known issues with getting it claimed? Come on. I've done everything in the FAQ and there should be no problems. Please, help me out.
Thanks.

Inappropriate?I know fellow frustrated people. My blog is not spam. I'd really appreciate a response. I'd just like to start the process over if I've done it wrong. (Which I suspect I have!)
http://www.carolineno.com/ -
Inappropriate?Claims are truly taking excessively long times (weeks and even over a month) to process. We are working to speed this up, and I think things should improve noticeably in the next couple of weeks, but it will probably be a bit longer before claims really move smoothly.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I would like to say that on Friday, after more than a week, Technorati did at least acknowledge my claim and noted that there is a backlog, so I'll change my little facial thing to "hopeful".
Hopeful everything works out. Thanks for the update Eric.
Russ

Inappropriate?Trying to claim blog: http://www.mstravelingpants.travel/
and because it was taking so long and thought perhaps you didn't allow .travel addresses, I submitted another URL which redirects to that 1st URL http://www.mstravelingpants.com
I am frustrated because in your forms it says it has already been submitted (about 2 months ago when I placed the code on the site for 3-4 days and I then removed as I didn't want my viewers to see that ugly content any longer). Now I have revisited the issue. I submitted for review again over a week ago 11/13/09. Can you please advise as to what I can do to make this process more expedited? Please help!
Ms Traveling Pants

-
Inappropriate? No progress since Monday. I get the same 'submitted but being evaluated' message.
I just don't get what could possibly take this long. Just say yes, it's really me and it's not spam. What are you evaluating?

Inappropriate?Well, October 23rd - November 21 and still nothing. Honestly, this is supposed to be "the" place to have your blog listed. For the life of me I cannot understand why it could take that much time. Seriously, pay someone to manually go visit the webpage if you have to. I spent the first two weeks of my wait without even getting a nice message saying that you were experiencing issues.
I’m irked
-
Inappropriate?Still waiting here, too. Completely bonkers. I joined on October 21. Thing is, I'm sure I've done it incorrectly, so now I have to waitttttttt even longer to do it again. Presuming I will ever find out.
-
Inappropriate?I just tried to claim a posterous.com blog. I know my RSS address and was able to supply it. But I expected to get code to place in my blog on the "next page" after hitting submit and instead I only got the message that the claim was in progress. Obviously if I don't place the code, it isn't going to happen.
Should I claim it again? (it is showing up as in progress on my account).
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate? My claim is over two weeks now as well. I've supplied the required information, and there really should not be this significant a delay.
Frankly, I don't much care now if it gets claimed or not. The service is inefficient.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Well, I was given a code and don't know what to do with it.
I click on the claim button and the page just refreshes.
Should I be asked to enter the code in order to verify that I'm the author ?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate? You have to put the code onto your blog. Back when I claimed my first blog, there were suggestions on where to put it. I'm on Wordpress.org and I entered into the widget area on the right column.
-
Inappropriate?José, you'll need to put that token into a post on your blog, so that it shows up in the feed you've given us.
Linda, as I mentioned to José, it can't be in the sidebar any more; it'll need to be in a post in your feed. -
Phillip, I would be so grateful if you could look at this:
http://technorati.com/account/claim/5...
I wasn't able to get the code so I don't know what to do next. I'll be more than happy to include it in a regular post on my blog if I can get it. -
Inappropriate?Linda, you should get an email when your claim token is ready.
We have a pretty large backlog right now, so we're batching emails to avoid overloading mail servers.
Should be through the backlog within two hours, I think. -
Thank you!!! -
Got the code, put it in my blog post, clicked to verify and rather quickly got:
Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.
Hurray!!
I should mention there were 2 codes. One that came in an email and one that I was able to pick up on my profile after I received the email. Just to be sure, I included both "tokens" with my post. http://lindashermangordon.posterous.c...
I assume I can now delete my "post for Technorati" from my blog? -
Should I now delete my "post for Technorati" from my blog? Or should I leave it until my claim completes the review process? When I go to Technorati, on my profile, it says: Nov 24, 2009. "We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review." I expect this will take some time. I don't mind leaving the post there but you mentioned something about having these claim tokens sit out in public. -
Linda, you can delete the post now. Thanks! -
This reply was removed on 11/24/09.
see the change log -
Inappropriate?treegs, If you visit http://technorati.com/account/ you should find more details. Specifically, you'll find a link to http://technorati.com/account/claim/2... where you'll be told, "Please put the following short code [deleted] within a new blog post and publish it. Once it is published, use the "Verify Claim Token" button to tell Technorati your blog is ready for verification."
I hope that helps! (I'm going to delete your post because I don't see how to edit it, and I don't think it's a good idea to leave the info here on a public page. -
Inappropriate?Phillip,
I have put both of the claim codes Technorati asked for into new posts.
PLEASE look at them.
They're here: http://www.thats-right.com/rapid-fire...
It looks terrible though so I REALLY hope I don't have to keep them there for as long as it took for Technorati to even recognize me.
Thank you.
Russ
I’m undecided
-
Leaving a comment on my own reply because when I hit "check claim" I get this: We could not find the claim token U2SJ6WSX9K26 in any posts in your feed. Please make sure that you have entered it correctly in a post body and that the token appears in the feed whose URL you have given us. Once you are sure we should be able to find the claim token, use "Update Site Feed URL" so that we can check again.
Come on Technorati....It's RIGHT THERE! First post. Looks terrible. Please, what is the problem? -
And the other one: "We could not find the claim token U2SJ6WSX9K26 in any posts in your feed. Please make sure that you have entered it correctly in a post body and that the token appears in the feed whose URL you have given us. Once you are sure we should be able to find the claim token, use "Update Site Feed URL" so that we can check again."
Seriously? www.thats-right.com
What's wrong with the URL?
This is ridiculous. -
Inappropriate?I just wanted to add that my Twitterfeed recognized the blog posts with the claim code in them and broadcast them to both twitter and facebook so I KNOW it's working.
Why, OH WHY, can't technorati see the same thing.
Russ
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Quick question... I got my blog token code, and entered it. Technorati took a minute or two, and said they successfully crawled my blog, found the token code, and it is now waiting review.
Now that the claim review is done... How long does the second review take?
I’m confused
-
You're better off than me. I have two stupid looking posts with the damn code in them sitting there doing nothing and technorati can't seem to find them when every single other feed burner I use has already sent the posts to the world.
Dude. -
Inappropriate? It's literally "checked" a dozen times now. I keep hitting "update feed url", even though the feed URL is correct and the damn code is STILL THERE, because Technorati can't see the post sitting there for the world.
This is utterly baffling.
I’m unbelievably disappointed and upset
-
Inappropriate?I finally got the code after 4 weeks, pasted it into a new post and keep getting the reply:
This is an automatically-generated email.
Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. Unfortunately, we have encountered a problem reading your site's data. Please log into technorati.com and go to http://technorati.com/account/ to update any necessary site information and continue the claim process.
Thank you.

I did the check to see if the feed was valid and it said it was. Any suggestions on what next??
In the info I put my actual blog URL.. is there a "feed" URL that is different that I need to add??

I’m frustrated
-
Hello, Alexusf,
If I understand properly, you;re not sure what to enter for the Feed URL, right? Please fake a look at our Feeds FAQ -- we need to get a link to this on the claim form page. Your feed URL is http://straycatte.blogspot.com/feeds/... -
Inappropriate?...14,...15...16 times and counting...
I'm starting to wonder whether all this is worth it.
-
Inappropriate?I just posted something else and again my twitterfeed found it and posted it to twitter and facebook. Everything is working. What is the problem.
And like Linda, I posted both codes that Technorati gave me.
-
Inappropriate?Try making sure that you have added http:// to the address. I had the same issues and was only able to get it to work when I added that part of the address.
-
you mean in the RSS feed address, right? Oh it's there. And I've now submitted it, checked it, been told Tecnhorati can't find it, and re-submitted it 18 times and counting.
It's ridiculous.
Thanks for the advice though. -
Inappropriate?Well yeah I'll add my problems, got the token added it to a rather new post, the second in my RSS feed, kept getting the error email, updated the feed a few times same email and no claim. I went as far as putting the token in the title of a post and still nothing. I see it fine in my rss.
I’m frustrated
-
John, BOTH of their codes are STILL in posts in my feed:
One: http://www.thats-right.com/rapid-fire...
And two: http://www.thats-right.com/rapid-fire...
Title AND body. Both claim numbers. 18 times.
It's a conspiracy, -
Inappropriate?Well guess what as soon as I posted this BING got an email they found the token. Now I wait for the review. I guess just keep trying and trying. Took about 10 Feed updates.
I’m thankful
-
You lucky bastard ;)
I'll keep waiting...I've been on the bag-check line at Newark International, I can weather this.
Doesn't mean I won't bitch about it.
Thanks John.
Russ -
Inappropriate?Surprise surprise, my claim didn't work.
I had TWO live claims apparently .I tried the first one, which told me my feed wasn't valid. So I checked it. ANd it was valid. I even put the little banner on my page. But still no dice. So I delted that claim and tried the next one.
The next claim told me that my URL didn't work. www.carolineno.com
Which is strange, because I have managed to claim it on Networked Blogs, Blogher, and post 116 posts so far this year, which are publishing just fine to Google Reader.
Could anybody possibly help? This is beyond ridiculous.
http://www.carolineno.com/
I’m in disbelief at how badly technorati is adminstrated
-
Add "http://" to your URL and hit Update URL. It'll work. Mine did. -
It worked for you, it hasn't worked in 20 tries for me, with the http there. The posts are still.....sitting.....there. Everyone in the world who chose to look can find them except Technorati. -
Inappropriate? Its taking forever to claim my blog because no matter where I put the claim token its not being found. I'm powered by wordpress. Where the freak do I put this thing?!
I’m frustrated
-
Put the code at the beginning of a post so it's sure to get into your feed. Or you could make a new post with just the code in it. If you can see it on your feed, you did right. [Edit] I'm blogging at WordPress.com -
Thank you Cat, everything seems to be working now. So far so good. -
Inappropriate?Good morning, Russ. I'm very sorry for your frustration. This definitely hasn't worked for you like it should.
You don't need the 6PCK... claim token any more. There was a small batch of incorrect tokens that were sent out -- I'm still not sure how -- but the only token we're looking for now is the U2SJ... one.
I'll need to get confirmation from some engineers in the Pacific timezone, but I *think* the problem might be that your feed seems to include only titles, and I don't think we're considering titles when scanning, just post bodies -- which your feed doesn't include.
I'll know for sure once one of the CA engineers gets in.
I'm sorry again. I hope we can resolve this quickly once everybody gets in. -
sorry to be demanding but could I get some help too, pls! -
Phillip,
Thanks so much for responding. I was beginning to think Technorati was just giving up. Also, thanks for pointing out that my feed doesn't include bodies...I wasn't aware of that.
But if you followed the link, you can see that my blog is for real and I can assure you that it's mine. Anything else you need from me, please don't hesitate to ask and I'll provide it post haste.
And Caroline...I feel you sister, I really do. Let's hope all of us get taken care of today.
Thanks again Phillip. I'll go back to very cautiously optimistic.
Russ -
Inappropriate?ta russell.
-
Inappropriate?Phillip - could you please look at my profile and see why it thinks the link to my site is incorrect? It's not. And there is no option to change it as far as I can see even if it were.
I have posted the claim code in the body of a post today.
www.carolineno.com
thanks. -
Inappropriate?Caroline, you've got two claims, and neither are "just right."
http://technorati.com/account/claim/1... features a Feed URL that doesn't work, though a little experimentation suggests that the issue might be easily resolved: http:// seems to work, but https:// doesn't.
http://technorati.com/account/claim/2... has a good Feed URL and corresponds to the token you've got in your feed, so it's probably the easiest one to fix. However, you'll need to update the Site URL to http://www.carolineno.com/ instead of just www.carolineno.com
I recommend fixing the 26685 claim, since a single simple step ought to be enough.
I hope that helps! -
Phillip. Thanks so much for getting back to me. When I update the URL it says
Nov 25, 2009. We could not find a page at that URL. Please make certain you have provided a full and correct URL for your blog. -
Inappropriate?Caroline, I just checked both claims and don't see any changes at all.
I can do it for you, if you like. The key is to change the URL at http://technorati.com/account/claim/2... to include http:// at the beginning. -
Phillip - i've been adding the http:// and it still tells me the url doesn't work. If you could do it that would be great, and let me know how long I need to leave the code in my post? Thanks so much. -
Inappropriate?dear tech dudes.
I am new to all this. I want to claim a wordpress.com hosted site I have tried several times to no avail. I followed instructions from their site, I accidentally noticed I gave https://crazycreatures.wordpress.com as https instead of http so I created a new claim.
the blog post is http://crazycreatures.wordpress.com/2... to which I added the claim code. This didn't work so I simply added it to the blog feed rather than the specific post http://crazycreatures.wordpress.com/f...
not sure what I have done wrong really. I won't be surprised if i made a silly mistake somewhere. Many Thanks
Claim No. 53315/
Alex
I’m indifferent
-
Hi got the "Nov 25, 2009. We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review." message after posting this. Not sure if you had something to do with it. Thanks
Alex -
Inappropriate?Alex, I updated your feed to be just http://crazycreatures.wordpress.com/f... and we crawled and found the claim token just fine. You can now remove that token, and I hope your claim is complete soon.
THanks! -
Thank you Phillip. Do bear in mind that I am positive that I had that feed correct several times before as it is exactly what wordpress.com say to do. Could it be the fact that automatic trawling is not working that is causing all these issues. I assume you performed a manual crawl to fix mine. Just a thought.
Thanks
Alex -
Alex, nope, no manual crawl. I just went to http://technorati.com/account/claim/5... and changed the URL to http://crazycreatures.wordpress.com/f... and clicked the "Update" button, and it worked.
Thanks! -
hehehhe... this is the part where I say 'oh well that's weird, I'm sure I did it right!'... you laugh and chuckle and reply 'yeah, yeah, that's what they all say'. :)
Thanks again.
Alex -
Alex -- I suppose it is! For what it's worth, I believe you, though I can't explain why it worked for me. -
Inappropriate?Phillip,
Any progress on my claim? The code is still there...
Thanks.
Russ
I’m very, very cautiously optimistic
-
Hmm, not sure if you were notified of my previous response. I'm still very sorry. :-( -
Inappropriate?Russ, I'm very sorry to say that we are *now* ready to handle your SquareSpace title-only feed, but we're a few minutes too late, and the token has slipped out of your feed. Any change you can push it forward for a few minutes?
-
Doing it now.... -
it's at the top...
And I changed my settings to include an "excerpt" which I think is the equivalent of other blogs' post bodies.
Thanks Phillip. Fingers crossed...
Russ -
Inappropriate?Russ, it worked! Woohoo! Sorry for the arduous process, but I'm glad we've managed to crawl your feed. You can now safely remove the token.
http://technorati.com/account/claim/3...
I’m happy
-
Killer Dude...killer.
Thanks again for all your help Phillip. Happy Thanksgiving.
Russ -
Inappropriate?Phillip,
What does this mean?
"Nov 25, 2009. We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review."
Success?!?
Russ
I’m unsure
-
Yes! Happy Thanksgiving. -
Inappropriate?can I get some technorati love pls? mine's still not working! Phillip - did you try to add the http at your end?
-
I didn't want to change your data without your permission, but I'll try to update it now and see what happens.
I went to http://technorati.com/account/claim/2... and saw 'www.carolineno.com' as the Site URL.
I replaced that with 'http://www.carolineno.com/' and hit the 'Update Site URL' button.
I got a 'page not found!' That's clearly a bug, and I'm digging into it now. -
Hi Caroline,
I have an idea about why Philip's advice doesn't seem to be helping. When you got to your account page, how many blog claims does it show in progress? And what are the URLs it displays for those blogs? -
Inappropriate?two. I deleted the first claim this morning as it didn't work, but it's still showing.
-
And just like that, it worked. You can delete the token now, all is well on your end. It's up to our end now!
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?it is now showing just one - with this message
www.carolineno.com
Nov 25, 2009. We could not find a page at that URL. Please make certain you have provided a full and correct URL for your blog. -
Inappropriate?Eric figured it out. I've deleted your *other* claim, the one with the correct URL, so that this one could be saved with the correct URL; no duplicates!
It'll take a couple of minutes to roll through testing and crawling and so on, but I suspect it'll work now. -
Inappropriate?thanks guys - just the one now with the correct http prefix - any idea how long it will take and if it can see my claim token (when can I delete that).
THANK YOU!!! -
Inappropriate?yippee!! thanks so much. :)
-
Inappropriate?Next question, but not nearly as urgent, is how long does it take for successfully claimed blogs to show up in the directory? I searched for mine several different ways but I don't see it.
Thanks again everyone, especially Phillip, for taking care of this before the holiday.
Russ
I’m happy
-
I'll be curious to learn the answer to that one myself. ;-)
Happy T-Day. -
Inappropriate?@ Phillip Winn
Any idea about the status of my claim? I had asked previously, but it still shows the the crawl was successful, but it's still awaiting review. How long (approximately) does the review tend to take? -
That's the new question. I'm wondering whether we should start a new thread to watch how long it takes for the "Review" to add blogs to the directory. Here's the message I'm getting:
Welcome to the new Technorati.com! The page requested was not found. It's possible you reached this page because we forgot to update a link on the previous version of our site. We have recorded this event and will be doing our best to repair any broken links.
New thread? -
There's a holdup with that (final) step that people are working on now. I don't have any ETA, and I'm sorry about that. -
Inappropriate?Gahhh! Im still getting the message that says: Nov 24, 2009. We were unable to parse the feed URL you provided. Please verify the URL and try validating the feed at http://validator.w3.org/feed/ when I click on "check claim"
I checked using the site it gave me and it says its a valid feed. Can anyone help? Not sure what else to do? I have a post at the top with the token code and nothing else. HELPPP!
http://straycatte.blogspot.com/
I’m frustrated
-
Catte, your 'Site URL' and 'Site Feed URL' are different. You've supplied your Site URL for both. Please update the 'Site Feed URL' to be: http://straycatte.blogspot.com/feeds/...
That should help move things forward.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hi again! I only see one place that it will let me try to change the "feed URL" :
the page looks like this:
Claim Status
Stray Catte
http://straycatte.blogspot.com/
Nov 25, 2009. We were unable to parse the feed URL you provided. Please verify the URL and try validating the feed at http://validator.w3.org/feed/
Site Feed URL: http://straycatte.blogspot.com/
When I enter the correct feed URL you gave me and hit "Update Site Feed URL" it automatically goes back to the incorrect one I had entered previously and gives me the above error message again.
Is there anywhere else I can correct the feed URL in my claim? -
Inappropriate? My account page actually wont let me update/add ANYTHING. I tried updating my Bio as well as adding a zip code etc and the fields are all green and once I hit save- it reverts back to what was there previously. Same thing when I go to the claim page and try to correct the URL to the "Feed URL" is there some reason why I cant make any changes to my account page? Almost like Im locked out or something?
-
Inappropriate?Hi Catte,
I've manually updated the feed URL in your record; I'm not sure why you couldn't. You should get another email from our crawler soon either saying it FINALLY found your code or reporting another problem. I can't see any reason you wouldn;t be able to update your bio, so let's see if that problem goes away when the crawl is successful -
Inappropriate?Hello, I just got a message today saying:
Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. Unfortunately, we have
encountered a problem reading your site's data. Please log into technorati.com
and go to http://technorati.com/account/ to update any necessary site
information and continue the claim process.
However, when I go to the link and look at my profile, nothing seems out of place. And you can't reply to the emails that are sent. The only options in my profile are: USER NAME, FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, EMAIL, LOCATION, ZIP CODE, URL, BYLINE, ORGANIZATION.
All of these are correct. Any help is appreciated.
I’m frustrated
-
Hi Thomas,
that page should list all of your blog claims, including the one in progress that the email is about (with a yellow background). If you click the "check claim" button by that claim, you should be able to update the URL(s) for this claim. But the email should have explained more about what needs to be fixed -- what is you blog URL and/or Technorati username? (we may not be able to investigate until early next week, though) -
Inappropriate?First I got a message that it couldn't find the token.
I noticed (don't know if this happened to everyone) that the first token that I got on my e-mail was different from the one that I got after clicking the check button. So I had to change the token on my post.
Then finally I got the message that it was crawled.
I should get 1000 shares from Technorati for all this trouble :-)
I’m amused
-
You're right, José -- we fixed that bug Wednesday morning. At least we believe we did - when did you get the email with the wrong token? -
Inappropriate?I already have a claimed blog.
Tried to add a second blog since this beta change to technorati. Nightmare. First I received different "claim token" in an email than on the technorati site. I tried to insert both into my blog post. Neither worked. Now, each time I try to "claim" the blog I get 3 emails telling me they "have encountered a problem reading my sites data...."
I give up. So not worth the bother. The changes to this site have made it worthless.
BlogCatalog allowed me to claim my blog in 2 days.
I’m giving up
-
I do apologize for the horrendous expereince. Can you tell me the URL of the blog you;re trying to claim now? -
Inappropriate?Hi Eric,
I guess it was on the 24th that I got the first token and posted it on my blog.
Then I noticed that after clicking the button to require the crawling, that the token was another, so I changed it on my blog, tried again and it worked.
Take care,
José -
Inappropriate?Hey Eric,
Any word on when claimed blogs will be actually listed? Been another week now and still getting the "page not found" message. I don't show up in ANY searches either.
Thanks.
Russ
I’m sad (again)
-
Inappropriate?Hi,
I had the "We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review." message since 25th of November and I cannot actually edit any of the details related to the site. All I wanted was to add the "/_nocache" on the end of the URL of my RSS feed. I have a caching system running which is cleared for the blog every time I make a new entry public, but in order for the RSS feed to stay up to date with the Blog it needs "/_nocache" on the end of the URL.
Is there any way to do this before my Blog is reviewed, or should I wait and do it after?
Oh, and how long does it usually take to review a Blog?
Thank you,
Anton. -
that can wait until the review is complete, I think. If we have the old URL, we'll keep getting the feed content from Nov 25? -
Thank you Eric!
The feed should be more or less up-to-date and it does have the claim token.
Eric, How long does the review process usually take? Roughly :) -
Inappropriate?Hi there.
I have tried to claim my blog for months.. I really don`t know what i am doing wrong.
I am getting this message all the time:
Thank you for submitting your blog claim on Technorati. Unfortunately, we have encountered a problem reading your site's data. Please log into technorati.com and go to http://technorati.com/account/ to update any necessary site information and continue the claim process.
I am not sure how to enter the claim buttonthing.. please help?

Hi Ry-My,

We need to figure out why & when we're sending such an unhelpful email; that obviously doesn;t do anyone any good. Can you tell us your blog URL? -
Inappropriate? As with Anton, I got the message: "We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review." But that's been since Nov. 24th, and nothing's happened. I moved my blog from blogspot to my own website, but neither version appears to be in the directory. Thanks in advance.
-
sorry, but it won't be in the directory until the review is completed. I know this is taking far too long. -

Since there are a lot of us waiting for claims to be reviewed, can you help us understand how that process works? Or help us understand why it's taking so long. Or, if Technorati has a backlog of claims to review, how long a time are we talking about? A month? Six weeks? Longer? That way I wouldn't have to check back every day to see that there's been no progress. Thanks in advance. -
I can tell you that you'll get an email when it's done so you don't need to keep checking back..... -
TechnoEric,
Is there anything I can do on my end to speed up the process? -
TechnoEric,
Is there anything I can do on my end to speed up the process? -
Inappropriate?I too keep getting the same unhelpful message every time I follow the procedure to test my blog url on the link you give. "Congratulations" they say. Then I go back to Technorati and press the link reference and receive another two or three of your messages in return. I'm just about to give up.
http://pppatty.blogspot.com -
the multiple emails are a problem we need to fix ASAP. If you got the Congratulations email, you don;t need to do anything more -- we just need to complete the review. I know this is taking far too long. -
Inappropriate?Sorry, but i don`t know how to comment again in the right place here . But you ask for my url. It was in my comment. www.turbolotte.blogspot.com
-
thanks, ry-my
The problem is that we cannot find the claim token (the claim code) in a post in your feed. I think if you go to the URL in the email (technorati.com/account) it explains this in the lower part of the page where it shows your claim. You can click the "Check Claim" button there to see a bit more detail, and when you have the code (STBUW87GF6F5) is a post in your feed, click the "Update Site Feed URL" button on the claim page. -
Inappropriate?Hi again,
When I added the token to my blog, which has already been crawled, I pinged it, in fact I ping my blog when I post a new article.
I don't know if this is of any help for the Technorati crawler to find blogs.
Take care,
José -
thanks, Jose.
However, Technorati no longer uses pings, so that's not necessary and won't make a difference. Go to the claim details in your account page and click the l-o-n-g button there when you're ready for us to look for your claim code. -
Inappropriate?Hello,
I also received the message via email that "have encountered a problem reading my sites data...." . But the status says that you crawled the site and found the token and now its in review. I am almost ready to give up. My URL is www.videogametrader.com -
Inappropriate?I am having the same message ""We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review." and it has been like that for 2 weeks. Hopefully the whole process would take less than a month
I’m confused
-
You would hope so. It's been far longer than a month for me and I'm still waiting for the "review" process to conclude. -
You would hope so. It's been far longer than a month for me and I'm still waiting for the "review" process to conclude. -
Inappropriate?Same stuff here. My blog http://antivirustech.com was token-crawled about 2 weeks ago, and the token was sucessfully found on the RSS feed.
How long can this 'review' procedure possibly take?
Will it ever get processed? :P -
Inappropriate?I am glad to say my claim has finally been added!! So is it really taken ages to crawl?
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Add me to the list of disappointed folks. At http://www.drawthedog.com, we post semi-animated dog cartoons that seem to draw themselves. Code was recognized December 3; but our claim is still pending.
Here's what I don't understand: once you prove ownership by publishing the code, why isn't the rest automated and instant? It is almost everywhere else (Google, etc.)
I’m not wagging my tail
-
Inappropriate?Still...and still taking up blogspace with no authority.
As you of all blogs know, folks depend on you for other things "blogospherically"
Any, ANY word on when my now 60+ day successful "claim" will be finished?
I'm still here...waiting.
Thanks.
I’m starting to think maybe Technorati doesn't care
-
Inappropriate? The "Congratulations" message I receive is from Validatorw3.org/feed when I test my url per your instructions on site when you sayyou are "unable to parse the feed url provided." I then press the shown feed url again on your site and immediately get multiple e-mails from you telling me to go back to my account. Frustrating doesn't begin to explain my feelings...
-
For some reason, the w3 validator is perfectly happy with thngs that aren't feed at all and only gets nit-picky about actual feeds that have errors. My guess is that you gave it (& us) your blog URL or a URL that returns a blog page - try browsing to that URL to see what you get. Your feed is at http://pppatty.blogspot.com/feeds/pos... -
Inappropriate? As a long-time (two decades) customer relationship professional, here's what I find really hard to understand: that you "TechnoEric (Official Rep)" read this forum but only reply every few days to one or two posts and seem to ignore the rest. Or that Technorati fails to offer an explanation beyond "it's taking way too long."
-
I hear you, Bruce. Unfortunately, the time I spend here is time not spent on trying to fix the problems. So I'm trying to address the posts where I can actually solve something or move things forward, and not taking the time to repeatedly post the same unsatisfactory answers again and again. -
Inappropriate? What I get when I press the above link is the latest entry on my blog. So what exactly is the problem with my claim???
-
right, but it doesn't look like your blog usually does because this is your feed presentation - please take a look at our Feeds FAQ if you're not familiar with feeds. We need you to put this URL, for your feed, into the form where it asks for Feed URL. Right now, you have your blogspot profile URL there. -
Inappropriate?Maybe it's me, but the feed url given is the same as the one I am trying to confirm on technorati:
http://www.blogger.com/profile/179514...
Validator confirm that this is a valid feed -
Hi Patty,
when you say 'the feed url given' -- that's the URL you told us is your feed. It's not. That's your blogger profile (click the link in your post and see) You feed URL is http://pppatty.blogspot.com/feeds/pos..., so you have to enter that into Technorati. On the "Check Caim" page where it shows the profile URL, you can edit or replace it. I know it looks all grayed out, but you can change it there. -
Inappropriate?Eric: Thank you...success at last!
-
Inappropriate? My blog at http://www.intranetexperience.com has been waiting review since 11/24/09. Seems like the process of reviewing blogs is still taking way too long. Going on 3 weeks??
Hoping for some help, here....

Inappropriate? On Nov. 26, I received the following information from Technorati about my blog http://amatterofhowyouseeit.com
"We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review."
Do you have an approximate timeframe as to when my claim will be reviewed? -
Inappropriate? So you're removing my posts too?
Eric, why?
Waiting...patiently over here for a review, which will come back 'ok', for how long? And you delete my posts?
Still waiting.
Thanks.
I’m starting to think technorati has an agenda
-
Huh - wait - wha? Who's deleting what posts? -

Inappropriate?http://getsatisfaction.com/technorati...
I get your updates via email. That link, from gmail, took me to this page where there was a note saying "this reply was removed". When I followed it, two of my reply's were removed. I'm sure Technorati had a reason, but it was a curious reason at best, and idiotic reason at worst. I'm still not sure exactly why it happened, despite TN's "reasons".
So yes, my posts were deleted, or at least "removed" from the thread.
Eric, seriously, are you the only person at TN reviewing claims? How could the single most important website for listing blogs suddenly fail in such an epic manner? It doesn't make any sense. At all. In any way. Whatsoever.
So yes, between the months long process, MONTHS, think about that, and my posts being removed, what am I supposed to think?
Gross incompetence was my first thought, but I still gave TN the benefit of the doubt. After that it could only be that TN doesn't like my blog. In which case just please deny my review and let's move on.
Thanks.
I’m experiencing one of the most legendary meltdowns in Internet history

sorry about the duplicate posts. GetSatisfaction often doesn't agree with my browser. -
Inappropriate?no that's fine. Double posts I can deal with.
But when I clicked to this thread through Gmail, the posts that were "removed" were mine. I could be mistaken, that's fair enough, and if I am I apologize.
But the fact remains that this is an unprecedented meltdown for an internet giant.
I’m wondering what is going on at Technorati
-
Inappropriate?Hi,
I share in everyone's frustration at the length of time this entire blog submission process is taking. It has been almost 3 weeks since my claim was verified (11/24), but apparently as of yet it is still awaiting review. If I remember correctly, it was also a couple of weeks just to get to verified status.
IMHO, Technorati would be well advised to give their customers (us) a firm time estimate for this process - even if it is something we don't want to hear. It frees us up to work on other blog promotion ventures rather than worrying over this one. If I knew that I didn't have to check in daily to see what might have changed for me at Technorati, that would be great. Basically, lack of concrete information (from what is purportedly a premier site that you wouldn't expect this from) for such a long time is what is frustrating everyone.
So please, buck up and tell us what is really going on (even if it means publicizing tech problems) and give us regular updates. We accept that sometimes s*** happens. Truly open communications will improve your credibility 100 fold and reinforce our confidence in why we chose Technorati in the first place.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Melissa B.

Inappropriate? The last comment was made a month ago that you are working on speeding up the process. Can you tell me what the current time delay is please. Thank you.
I’m frustrated too
-
Inappropriate?Checking this thread I see it took PPPATTY 3 days shy of a month to get verified. I've been waiting since Dec 3 so I should be verified by Jan 1. I hope.
-
Inappropriate?I claimed my blog (humorality.com) and added it to Technorati on September 1, over three months ago (!), but it still does not show up. You cannot search for it by name, and the graphic preview thumbnail in my account maintenance area still says "Thumbnail Queued." What do I need to do to push this process along?

Tim -
Inappropriate?Actually it was Dec 02, 2009 Technorati successfully crawled my blog and found the claim token, and my claim is now awaiting review.
http://vignauvavino.blogspot.com/ -
Inappropriate? My blog was crawled on November 26, so we're at 18 days. And that's after the months it took to get the token to work correctly. This is the single most unsatisfying Internet experience I've had. Who, exactly, checks the claims? Dogs?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? In years past, I was able to verify my sites with ease, but after updating my blog and switching platforms, I added my new blog (on an unrelated domain) with the claim token and am still waiting for completion. I put the claim in on 12/03/2009 (12 days and counting now), got the claim token to verify later that evening, and now I am still waiting for the "review" process to be completed. I am patient, but I wanted to know when I SHOULD expect to be added! Any insight?
Error Code: We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review.
I’m super flustered
-
Get in Line Dwayne. I've been waiting for well over a month for the review to be completed. I don't even bother checking Technorati anymore. -

I submitted mine since 11/24, so you still have a loooooooooooong way to go. -
Inappropriate?I know that I am not alone on this slow drive on the Technorati highway! It never took this long before. I hope to have this resolved soon!
I’m frustrated
-
A week?!? Pfffft. Call me when you get to 45 days and counting.... -
OK, I'm calling. I have been waiting over 90 days (since September 1). The site is humorality.com. -

Inappropriate? Is it really taking a month or more for a claim to be reviewed? That seems a little ridiculous for an organization that is supposed to be a leader in the field.
I’m perplexed
-
Let me answer your question this way: Yes. It's really taking more than a month for claims to be reviewed. -
Inappropriate?hey guys whats going on with my claim check?? TechnoEric had to update my claim token automatically, but nothing has happened since then, and that was Nov 25.
Can I get a manual update??
http://technorati.com/blogs/www.bayar...
I've been waiting for a couple of months now, I'm starting to feel it will never get indexed.
I’m lost all hope
-
Inappropriate?Awaiting review since Nov 24th. Been waiting for almost a month now, and my blog still hasn't been accepted.
It would be a lot better if we at least knew how long we should expect to wait.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I don’t think it’s acceptable by a website that should be made for the bloggers to let them wait for over a month for their blogs to be approved. That’s ridiculous, sorry. I’m removing my claim now!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? How long does it take to do a review? My blogs were successfully crawled on Nov 29, and Dec 1st respectively. This seems a little crazy that this is so slow? What needs to be reviewed that takes so long?
I’m disappointed
-
Inappropriate?Still waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiting for my blog claim to be approved. It says you have successfully crawled my blog. That was on the 25th November. What on earth is taking so long?

I’m confused why it's so hard
