Blog claiming is taking FOREVER!

Hi - really frustrating that I have no idea whether my blog claim is going to work or not. I suspect I did it wrong! In which case I would love a chase to restart my claim. It has been a month now! http://www.carolineno.com/

Please help! I have already posted on the support board and it seems really bizarre there is nobody to help with this!

I am also SERIOUSLY frustrated with the claiming process. When I started my blog I claimed it, (http://www.accidentalolympian.typepad...), and now I am trying to remove the .typepad version and claim my new version (http://www.accidentalolympian.com) but nothing is working.

I have tried to claim the new version probably 6 times now. I keep trying to delete the .typepad version and even that button doesn't work!

Ages ago I added the code required to a post and it went live through my feed. This was right before you switched to the new Technorati version and everything broke down. Will blogs that attempted to claim before the switch be lost?

Do you all have any time frame at all for when we'll be back to a working order?

I ask because I don't want to keep posting things with weird code in it only to have months go by without anything. My readers are going to think I have seriously lost my mind.

I would like to say that on Friday, after more than a week, Technorati did at least acknowledge my claim and noted that there is a backlog, so I'll change my little facial thing to "hopeful".

I am frustrated because in your forms it says it has already been submitted (about 2 months ago when I placed the code on the site for 3-4 days and I then removed as I didn't want my viewers to see that ugly content any longer). Now I have revisited the issue. I submitted for review again over a week ago 11/13/09. Can you please advise as to what I can do to make this process more expedited? Please help!

Well, October 23rd - November 21 and still nothing. Honestly, this is supposed to be "the" place to have your blog listed. For the life of me I cannot understand why it could take that much time. Seriously, pay someone to manually go visit the webpage if you have to. I spent the first two weeks of my wait without even getting a nice message saying that you were experiencing issues.

Still waiting here, too. Completely bonkers. I joined on October 21. Thing is, I'm sure I've done it incorrectly, so now I have to waitttttttt even longer to do it again. Presuming I will ever find out.

I just tried to claim a posterous.com blog. I know my RSS address and was able to supply it. But I expected to get code to place in my blog on the "next page" after hitting submit and instead I only got the message that the claim was in progress. Obviously if I don't place the code, it isn't going to happen.
Should I claim it again? (it is showing up as in progress on my account).

My claim is over two weeks now as well. I've supplied the required information, and there really should not be this significant a delay.
Frankly, I don't much care now if it gets claimed or not. The service is inefficient.

Well, I was given a code and don't know what to do with it.
I click on the claim button and the page just refreshes.
Should I be asked to enter the code in order to verify that I'm the author ?

You have to put the code onto your blog. Back when I claimed my first blog, there were suggestions on where to put it. I'm on Wordpress.org and I entered into the widget area on the right column.

I just wanted to add that my Twitterfeed recognized the blog posts with the claim code in them and broadcast them to both twitter and facebook so I KNOW it's working.

Why, OH WHY, can't technorati see the same thing.

Quick question... I got my blog token code, and entered it. Technorati took a minute or two, and said they successfully crawled my blog, found the token code, and it is now waiting review.
Now that the claim review is done... How long does the second review take?

It's literally "checked" a dozen times now. I keep hitting "update feed url", even though the feed URL is correct and the damn code is STILL THERE, because Technorati can't see the post sitting there for the world.

This is utterly baffling.

I finally got the code after 4 weeks, pasted it into a new post and keep getting the reply:

I'm starting to wonder whether all this is worth it.

I just posted something else and again my twitterfeed found it and posted it to twitter and facebook. Everything is working. What is the problem.

And like Linda, I posted both codes that Technorati gave me.

Try making sure that you have added http:// to the address. I had the same issues and was only able to get it to work when I added that part of the address.

Well yeah I'll add my problems, got the token added it to a rather new post, the second in my RSS feed, kept getting the error email, updated the feed a few times same email and no claim. I went as far as putting the token in the title of a post and still nothing. I see it fine in my rss.

Well guess what as soon as I posted this BING got an email they found the token. Now I wait for the review. I guess just keep trying and trying. Took about 10 Feed updates.

Surprise surprise, my claim didn't work.

I had TWO live claims apparently .I tried the first one, which told me my feed wasn't valid. So I checked it. ANd it was valid. I even put the little banner on my page. But still no dice. So I delted that claim and tried the next one.

Which is strange, because I have managed to claim it on Networked Blogs, Blogher, and post 116 posts so far this year, which are publishing just fine to Google Reader.

Could anybody possibly help? This is beyond ridiculous.

I am new to all this. I want to claim a wordpress.com hosted site I have tried several times to no avail. I followed instructions from their site, I accidentally noticed I gave https://crazycreatures.wordpress.com as https instead of http so I created a new claim.

When I enter the correct feed URL you gave me and hit "Update Site Feed URL" it automatically goes back to the incorrect one I had entered previously and gives me the above error message again.
Is there anywhere else I can correct the feed URL in my claim?

My account page actually wont let me update/add ANYTHING. I tried updating my Bio as well as adding a zip code etc and the fields are all green and once I hit save- it reverts back to what was there previously. All of these are correct. Any help is appreciated.

First I got a message that it couldn't find the token.
I noticed (don't know if this happened to everyone) that the first token that I got on my e-mail was different from the one that I got after clicking the check button. So I had to change the token on my post.
Then finally I got the message that it was crawled.
I should get 1000 shares from Technorati for all this trouble :-)

I already have a claimed blog.

Tried to add a second blog since this beta change to technorati. Nightmare. First I received different "claim token" in an email than on the technorati site. I tried to insert both into my blog post. Neither worked. Now, each time I try to "claim" the blog I get 3 emails telling me they "have encountered a problem reading my sites data...."

I give up. So not worth the bother. The changes to this site have made it worthless.

BlogCatalog allowed me to claim my blog in 2 days.

I guess it was on the 24th that I got the first token and posted it on my blog.
Then I noticed that after clicking the button to require the crawling, that the token was another, so I changed it on my blog, tried again and it worked.

I had the "We have successfully crawled your blog and found the claim token, and your claim is now awaiting review." message since 25th of November and I cannot actually edit any of the details related to the site. All I wanted was to add the "/_nocache" on the end of the URL of my RSS feed. I have a caching system running which is cleared for the blog every time I make a new entry public, but in order for the RSS feed to stay up to date with the Blog it needs "/_nocache" on the end of the URL.

Is there any way to do this before my Blog is reviewed, or should I wait and do it after?

Oh, and how long does it usually take to review a Blog?

I too keep getting the same unhelpful message every time I follow the procedure to test my blog url on the link you give. "Congratulations" they say. Then I go back to Technorati and press the link reference and receive another two or three of your messages in return. I'm just about to give up.

Add me to the list of disappointed folks. At http://www.drawthedog.com, we post semi-animated dog cartoons that seem to draw themselves. Code was recognized December 3; but our claim is still pending.

Here's what I don't understand: once you prove ownership by publishing the code, why isn't the rest automated and instant? It is almost everywhere else (Google, etc.)

The "Congratulations" message I receive is from Validatorw3.org/feed when I test my url per your instructions on site when you sayyou are "unable to parse the feed url provided." I then press the shown feed url again on your site and immediately get multiple e-mails from you telling me to go back to my account. Frustrating doesn't begin to explain my feelings...

As a long-time (two decades) customer relationship professional, here's what I find really hard to understand: that you "TechnoEric (Official Rep)" read this forum but only reply every few days to one or two posts and seem to ignore the rest. Or that Technorati fails to offer an explanation beyond "it's taking way too long."

What I get when I press the above link is the latest entry on my blog. So what exactly is the problem with my claim???

I get your updates via email. That link, from gmail, took me to this page where there was a note saying "this reply was removed". When I followed it, two of my reply's were removed. I'm sure Technorati had a reason, but it was a curious reason at best, and idiotic reason at worst. I'm still not sure exactly why it happened, despite TN's "reasons".

So yes, my posts were deleted, or at least "removed" from the thread.

Eric, seriously, are you the only person at TN reviewing claims? How could the single most important website for listing blogs suddenly fail in such an epic manner? It doesn't make any sense. At all. In any way. Whatsoever.

So yes, between the months long process, MONTHS, think about that, and my posts being removed, what am I supposed to think?

Gross incompetence was my first thought, but I still gave TN the benefit of the doubt. After that it could only be that TN doesn't like my blog. In which case just please deny my review and let's move on.

I share in everyone's frustration at the length of time this entire blog submission process is taking. It has been almost 3 weeks since my claim was verified (11/24), but apparently as of yet it is still awaiting review. If I remember correctly, it was also a couple of weeks just to get to verified status.

IMHO, Technorati would be well advised to give their customers (us) a firm time estimate for this process - even if it is something we don't want to hear. It frees us up to work on other blog promotion ventures rather than worrying over this one. If I knew that I didn't have to check in daily to see what might have changed for me at Technorati, that would be great. Basically, lack of concrete information (from what is purportedly a premier site that you wouldn't expect this from) for such a long time is what is frustrating everyone.

So please, buck up and tell us what is really going on (even if it means publicizing tech problems) and give us regular updates. We accept that sometimes s*** happens. Truly open communications will improve your credibility 100 fold and reinforce our confidence in why we chose Technorati in the first place.

Checking this thread I see it took PPPATTY 3 days shy of a month to get verified. I've been waiting since Dec 3 so I should be verified by Jan 1. I hope.

I claimed my blog (humorality.com) and added it to Technorati on September 1, over three months ago (!), but it still does not show up. You cannot search for it by name, and the graphic preview thumbnail in my account maintenance area still says "Thumbnail Queued." What do I need to do to push this process along?

My blog was crawled on November 26, so we're at 18 days. And that's after the months it took to get the token to work correctly. This is the single most unsatisfying Internet experience I've had. Who, exactly, checks the claims? Dogs?

In years past, I was able to verify my sites with ease, but after updating my blog and switching platforms, I added my new blog (on an unrelated domain) with the claim token and am still waiting for completion. I put the claim in on 12/03/2009 (12 days and counting now), got the claim token to verify later that evening, and now I am still waiting for the "review" process to be completed. I am patient, but I wanted to know when I SHOULD expect to be added! Any insight?
