Need more interest options
There need to be more interest options. For example, I wanted to choose "Law" but it's not there, and neither are any of my other areas of interest.

I was about to post this as a new problem before discovering it had already been posted, but this was my message:
There seems to be a lack of categories for interests, and no way of browsing the ones you do have. For example, I wanted to write "programming" which came up with nothing, and erased it (which confused me) as soon as I typed up to the point where no categories existed with that prefix. Now maybe you have something similar to programming in your list, but since there is no way to browse them, I had to make guesses to try and find a suitable candidate. It would be really great if we could enter interests that aren't in your list, or failing that, allow a way of browsing the available interests other than typing in hopefully and being disappointed. -

Ben, i found i could scroll down with the arrow key after hovering over the list with my mouse - but that's not satisfactory, i agree.
I'd add:
parenting
gardening (don't remember if that was there)
languages / linguistics
How about allowing users to type their own into the box? or would that create too many difficulties? -

Hi, you are all right, the Interests feature doesn't work as well as it should.
We will address this issue in our next dev rally and hopefully solve it!
I beg you to be patient since this is a non profit and the developers work on their free time (if such thing still exists!).
Regards!

Glad to learn that you are planning on addressing this. You may want to note that in similar threads on this problem. I do hope that your solution allows people to add their own categories.
