Inappropriate?@tonyarnold, may I give my opinion?
Even if the price (compared to free!) has to be taken into account, it's true that some usual "user-friendly" details, but typical of current Mac applications, could be integrated in Hyperspaces:
- Simple Drag'n'drop to Hyperspace app icon: to change the current space background in one clic.
- Propose icon in the menubar and/or in the Dock: two ways to reach Hyperspaces actions.
- Growl notifications: to have an (optional) confirmation of a Space change.
Besides these little interface details that Hyperspaces don't have, I must say that the advantage remains clearly with Hyperspaces (from my point of view), but the other app is free indeed and if it is lighter, it is not very far away! (at least for the main purpose: having different background and easily switch to them).
I will propose this bunch of suggestions as "ideas" ASAP ;-) -

Inappropriate?The good news is that a few of these things are in place in Hyperspaces 1.0fc3.
If you manually enable the dock icon by editing Hyperspaces' property list, you can drag and drop images onto the icon to set them as the current space background. I'll add a user-visible preference for the dock/menu icon in a future update.
Growl support is also in there now as well!
