Colour-coding
I've just downloaded and installed EventBox, and I think it's pretty sweet (it's a nice change to have a decent GUI app which does this stuff instead of a webapp).
One great feature that SocialThing! has which would seal the deal for me for EventBox is colour-coding of people. Like most users who've been on social networks for a while, my "friends" have a pretty clear split between people who really are my friends, random acquaintances, (ex-)colleagues, and "assorted interesting people". I don't really want to not follow people just because I'm not very good at filtering the wheat from the chaff sometimes, and being able to say that "this person's updated should have a red background colour because it's my wife and I should pay attention when she tweets" would be incredibly useful.
