Customize fonts
Not much of a big deal, but it would be nice if one could actually customize the fonts and font sizes being used...!? Right now the "Appearence" panel doesn't offer any such option...
Setting a certain font and size is pretty much standard so it couldn't be that hard to include, I guess...?!
The reason why I'm asking is that many toimes I am actually using the Mac min that's hooked up to my TV set as my main livingroom computer...so reading the screen from the couch isn't always that easy when you can't customize the font or font size respectively...

In the HUD, all the type appears to be in bold. Compare this to Twitterrific where only the user's name is bold. The fonts look a bit harsher in the HUD, perhaps the colour needs to be dialled back to a darker shade of grey. And the "3 mins ago text" could afford to stand out less. Also, the text input field in the HUD is Helvetica, which isn't consistent with anything else.

Inappropriate? We've got that on our list to ship before 1.0, so we will try and do it as soon as we can.
I would also like to shed some light on the difficulty of this task - it sounds quite easy to do but internally, it is non-trivial. Our main events area is not a standard Cocoa control (we use CoreAnimation for the events area), so we cannot just set the font and everything changes automatically - there is no built-in support. -
Inappropriate?I didn't really imply that it's always easy to implement, just that it is or should be a standrd feature for apps which deal with large amounts of text...!? ;)
Anyway, thanks for the information...! I'll be looking out for future updates... -
Inappropriate?i would love to be able to bump up the font size too - save me squinting ;)
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Just a quick hint for everyone who wants bigger fonts: Until there's another option, you could just activate Growl notifications for everything, and adjust their size. Here's a guide to building / customizing growl display styles: http://growl.info/documentation/webki...

Inappropriate? Please! I get a lot of status updates in Chinese and the characters are completely unreadable at the current font size. I love the application but this is a real problem for me.

Yeah the "X mins ago" text, the username and the action icons all could be toned down to 85-90% opacity so the actual content is the focus. And I am not sure what the font is that is used in the HUD but it need to use the same font as in Twitterific.
As it is now, the HUD is too garish and visually obtrusive when it's just sitting there with unread items. -
+1 the HUD should be more "laid-back" like twitterriffic -
Inappropriate?Totally agreed - I'm not getting any younger, and these fonts are just too small to be comfortable :) Also agreed on the font sharpness in HUD - compared to Twitterific, they look coarse.

Inappropriate?I have to agree, I have a disability and it makes it really hard for me to read. looks great but I am squinting at both the main window and the HUD. even if it was an option to zoom everything that would help enormously!
-
Inappropriate?Another vote for tweaking the HUD fonts & appearance. IMO the main app window has not enough contrast while the HUD has too much.
-
Inappropriate?Particularly after getting used to Firefox 3 and Safari 4's text resizing abilities, I find the fixed font (and colors) of the app to be its biggest weakness. It's a ton of fun to use, and I'm happy to own the app, but I would love to just hit Command + about two times.

Inappropriate?this is the main reason I don't use eventbox regularly - the fonts are too small. this really should be customizable.

Inappropriate?I would purchase EventBox right this minute if I could resize the fonts. I have a large monitor and I either have to squint or move my eyes pretty close to read the text in EventBox.

Inappropriate? This is marked as "Implemented" - is it in a new release?
-
It hasn't been implemented yet. Where did you see the "Implemented" status? -
Inappropriate? When you do a search, for example with the word 'font' the drop down automated search results include this thread, which has a big yellow 'implemented' bubble next to it.
