Facebook needs deeper integration
I love EventBox but one feature that would make it great would be to support the actual Facebook News Feed. So that we could get more than just our friends status update, but photo posts, shared item posts, etc... and inline commenting aswell within the app.

Inappropriate?Hi, all the features you have listed are currently impossible to implement because Facebook does not allow 3rd parties to access that information using the API. When this changes, we will implement support for it.
-
Inappropriate?Reading and adding comments (or at least the number of comments) to friends status is not supported by facebook's api either?
-
Inappropriate?I've just checked the facebook API, and I really can't see any method of getting that info. One thing that is available is number of wall posts, which we could potentially add as another container under Facebook in the sidebar.
Another more interesting unimplemented feature which we can do properly is facebook chat. This is a planned feature.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate? Thanks for the info. It's a pity that they only allow their native apps to do those things (e.g. iphone.app).
-
Inappropriate?I agree with you Paxton. Without deep integration with different services you are still required to go to the site which makes Eventbox a lot less useful. I hope they concentrate on those services that provide the API for deep integration and skip stuff like facebook until they get their act together.
-
Inappropriate?Hmmm, please do not skip Facebook ;-) But I totally agree, they should try to provide as much features for every service as the api provides. Esp. Twitter integration is be far not and the end of tis possibilities.
-
Inappropriate? It's too bad you can't get replies to my Facebook posts from the API. Since I never really actually log-into Facebook, sometimes it's a long time before I notice that someone commented on a post. That seems like a must-have feature to leave out.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Facebook released some updates to their APIs and we will see if we can provide some deeper integration.

Inappropriate?"In addition, we're opening new APIs for you to post links, create notes, or upload videos for the current user, and we've made setting a user's status easier."
sounds like a bunch of new facebook features for Eventbox
