Feature Request: Widescreen View for RSS/Google Reader views
What I mean by widescreen view is something similar to NetNewsWire and Evernote (mac client) where there are 3 panes in a vertical format. Left is the sidebar as usual, the middle column would be the rss article title and date posted and the right most column would simply be the full view of the rss article.
I really like EB, but this would make it a much more usable rss reader for me

Inappropriate?I concur, this would make GoogleReader so much more useable on my Macbook.

Inappropriate?I agree, this is the view I use in NetNewsWire and it's great for managing a large number of feeds.

Inappropriate?I never used the widescreen view in NetNewsWire, preferring the combined view. That's very similar to the way EventBox works, and it was one of the first things that attracted me to it.
However, I have become increasingly frustrated with Eventbox's inability to parse text correctly or display images, especially with regard to Google Reader feeds. Put simply it's ugly. So instead of scrolling as I would like to, I've started using the Command- method to select the next unread item, which also then displays the item in the much nicer input area at the bottom of the screen. That leads to another problem, though, as the input area resizes automatically depending on the service. That's natural, but also clumsy.
The widescreen view suggested here - moving the input area to a separate column - would solve this problem. As a column, the height should be fixed, meaning it wouldn't jump around all the time, and it would also allow me to read the feeds in the way they are intended instead of as inadequate summaries.
Another option which might help a widescreen view would be the ability to completely toggle the sidebar, perhaps moving the folders to pull-down menus /buttons at the top of the screen (where the 'Mark All As Read' button is).
As I said at the start, what I'd really like is for the main 'combined' view to display everything correctly. Failing that, I'd like some - any - way of displaying everything correctly, and a widescreen view seems to be the most likely approach.
I’m frustrated
