Inappropriate? We're currently concentrating on the desktop version and once we have shipped a solid 1.0, we might start working on an iPhone version.

Inappropriate? My 5Cent: keep your focus on the desktop App and make it the best choice around. There are excellent clients for the iPhone (twitterfon etc.) and it would be hard to beat them. With push notification on t's way the iPhone itself is some sort of EventBox IMHO
I’m confident

Whilst I agree to keep the focus on your desktop App for now, I believe iPhone customers are much more inclined to part with their money for a useful app, due to the new "App culture". It's very much the norm, whereas I have to say, apart from Eventbox, I have only ever bought one 3rd app for my Mac (xGestures). -
Inappropriate?I fully support the developers' decision to concentrate on the desktop app. There are already a million Twitter & Flickr clients available on the iPhone, and I doubt the developers are really going to top Facebook's own iPhone app (no offense).
Create a rock solid desktop app, and perhaps put future development into porting it to Windows & Linux. I know a lot of people that would be interested in having the same interface/user experience regardless of platform. (That doesn't mean put it on Adobe AIR though. AIR apps suck on the Mac.)
I’m unconcerned
