Logging into Facebook, cookies required bug?!
Trying login to my Facebook account in EventBox yields, "Cookies Required
Cookies are not enabled on your browser. Please adjust this in your security preferences before continuing."
I do have cookies enabled in my browser... but I cannot login and add my Facebook feeds to EventBox?!
Great looking product, super stoked to see the bugs ironed out!

Inappropriate?Figured it out - Cookies have to be enabled in Safari when you launch EventBox.
-
Inappropriate?How do I enable cookies?
-
Open Safari. Go to Preferences, go to the Security tab. For Accept Cookies select "Only from sites you navigate to". -

Inappropriate?Where do I find "Safari"?
-
Type it in Spotlight and it will find it for you. -
Inappropriate?Safari is a different browser, if you don't have it on your computer. You can download it here. http://www.apple.com/safari/ although if you are having trouble with firefox you can go for http://www.google.com/chrome, , that's a bit like firefox also open source shouldn't have too many issues

Inappropriate?i have the same problem...wht should i do? plz help me

Inappropriate? This is not a bug in EventBox, it's caused by a configuration option in Safari (which is used by EventBox). Safari is the browser on Mac OS X, you do not need to download it. To enable cookies, follow the instructions:
Open Safari. Go to Preferences, go to the Security tab. For Accept Cookies select "Only from sites you navigate to". -
Inappropriate?Cookies Required
Cookies are not enabled on your browser. Please adjust this in your security preferences before continuing.

-
Are you referring to using EventBox? It sounds like you're having a different problem. -
Inappropriate?Sorry not using event box, just trying to login to Facebook causes this problem - but not all the time...

Inappropriate? If you're on IE 8, try tweaking the Advanced Privacy Settings in Tools.Internet Options. Click the Privacy tab, then select the Advanced button. I've set mine to accept all First Party cookies, and prompt for all third party cookies. Click OK/Apply.
Just to be sure, when you return to IE, dump your history and all related cookies/temporary internet files. You can even hit F5 after entering the facebook address to make sure your browser loads a fresh version of the page.
Note that all of the apps on Facebook (almost all?) use third party cookies, so you may be clicking allow/block on the resulting dialogs for awhile until you've hit everything hosted by Facebook.
BTW I got no response whatsoever from contacting Facebook outside of their automatic "thanks but no thanks" response.
Good luck. -

Inappropriate?I've had this problem for a long time and I did everything everyone suggested and NOTHING worked until I checked the security settings and realized it was listed under the "restricted areas" tabs. This is what I did and FINALLY it works beautifully again.
In Internet explorer:
click on the "tools" option in the tool bar
click on "internet options"
Click on "security" tab
Click on "restricted sites" tab (big red circle with line through)
Click on the little button underneath labeled "sites"
Now, see if facebook appears on that list. If it does then select it and then press the "remove" button.
This solved my problem. I also had it blocked on firefox and removed from there as well.
I hope this works. I know it is VERY annoying not to be able to log in
Take Care
