A category that is used in accounts with different currencies will not let you change the currency associated with that category.
A category that is used in accounts with different currencies will not let you change the currency associated with that category. I thought it maybe something with the way I've imported from Quicken but I tested it out on brand new file and it does the same thing. This is very frustrating as I want to look at my expenses in my local currency but can't change to that currency.
Also I could work around this if I could do a batch category change across ALL my accounts but I can only seem to do it on one account at a time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Inappropriate?I have the same issue. I just wrote an extension to help solve this. For all transactions that are in a category with a currency different from the account, it moves the transaction to a new category. It creates the categories as needed with the same name under a new root category.
I'll see if I can get this added to the Google Code repository of extensions. I haven't figured out yet how to get added to the project. -

Inappropriate?I guess this is linked to my expenses account still being in French Francs (vs. Euro)
I’m dubitative

Inappropriate?Even worse the total shown in the category view for a category with sub-categories will look wrong if there are different currencies in the sub-category transactions. Took me awhile to figure that out on one of mine.
