Ability to enter transaction details from credit card statement
I'd like to purchase MoneyDance, but have a question about split transactions and the answer below did not fit. I enter numerous transactions from one credit card statement. I need to enter the category, to whom paid, and the amount. Is this possible? Also, in your answer to someone below, what do you mean by rate?

Inappropriate?I apologize if I'm misunderstanding your question, but I don't think you need to use split transactions for what you're doing. You can always enter a category, payee, and amount for transactions; you only use a split when the transaction has multiple categorees or payees. The "numerous transactions from one credit card statement" would each be separate transactions in Moneydance.
The Moneydance demo doesn't have any functionality restrictions, so the best thing to do is just download and install the demo and see if it fits your needs. -
Inappropriate?And, do not be confused by the "description" field in a split which is really more like a memo, whereas the "description" field in the main transaction listing is more like a "payee" field.
