bank balance
It would be nice on bank or credit card downloads if the program would show the bank balance (Microsoft Money does this). It helps to know your balances match what the bank shows and to detect if there is a problem with the account.

Inappropriate?If you click "reconcile", the current/reconcile balance will be what was downloaded.
However, I think your idea of showing it after a download/direct connect without having to go to reconcile would be pretty nice; maybe in the transaction matching area or, in the case of an up-to-date account, in the window that says the account is up to date.
