Find and Replace Plugin 1.2 Released
I have now posted Version 1.2 of the Find and Replace plugin:
http://www.mennesoft.com/findandreplace/index.html
Additionally, the source code has also been updated here:
http://code.google.com/p/moneydance/
This release supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Greek, Norwegian and Brazilian Portuguese languages.
New in this release is Copy To Clipboard so you can paste the results into an external program. Additionally I cleaned up some issues working with investment transactions.
Please send comments or suggestions to info@mennesoft.com, or bugs to bugs@mennesoft.com. Enjoy!
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Hi,
In MoneyDance it says your extension is available so I download it, does that install it as well? The reason I'm asking is when I again open MoneyDance it says
Your copy of Moneydance is up-to-Date!
There are some new extensions available:
Find and Replace version 1.2
The above message doesn't go away so I'm thinking there must be something else I must do. Click on Extensions I don't see it in there, click Extensions > Add > From the Internet, again shows your "Find and Replace" extension available.
Thank you in advance.

Inappropriate?>again shows your "Find and Replace" extension available
'Available' does not mean 'installed'. To install, click on Find and Replace in the list so it is highlighted. Then click Next. The extension will be downloaded and you'll be shown a summary of the plugin. Click Finish. Then close and reopen Moneydance and the plugin should be installed. -
Inappropriate?Hi Kevin,
Thank you for your prompt reply, impressive.
After the download is completed I don't see a "Finish" only "Next".
Then I try from within MoneyDance. Click the notice of the plugin is available, it downloads the file but to where? It doesn't go to my Downloads folder so I do the following:
Extension > Add > From Internet, click on the line "Find and Replace version 1.2", Click Next. Again it is downloading.
Then it takes me back to the same initial screen showing the Plugin,
click Next starts the download process again, I'm in a cycle.
Now I'm receiving the following error dialog box:
Error:java.lan.ClassCastException: java.lang.String
My Java Preferences are for Java Applet Plugin and Java Applications are: J2SE 5.0 32-bit and J2SE 1.4.2 32-bit
I'm on a PPC, 10.5.8.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Inappropriate?Find and Replace only works with Java 6. You can find more information, including instructions on setting Java 6 to be used by Moneydance on the Mac here:
http://www.mennesoft.com/findandrepla...
If Java 6 is not available on your system, then there is not much I can do to help you. Apple controls which version of Java is available on which model of a Mac.
Good luck! -
Inappropriate?Again thank you for your prompt reply. Sadly, Java 6 isn't available for my system. Upon reading your instructions I see it is my system not a plugin issue.
There will be many others on a PPC unable to use Java 6. Is there any plans to make it work on Java 5?
Thank you for your help in this matter. -
Inappropriate?>Is there any plans to make it work on Java 5?
Unfortunately, no. I'm somewhat unapologetic about this, because Java 6 was released in December 2006, so it's not like it uses cutting-edge technology. Find and Replace uses numerous Java 6 features and would be very time consuming to rewrite.
In my opinion, the entity that needs to change is Apple, who needs to release Java 6 for all their platforms. They won't do this, of course, in hopes that you will upgrade or replace your system.
Kind regards,

Inappropriate?Thank you for your explanation.
