Flicker bugs new in 617

There are two open problem threads, both with multiple "me, too!" participants, and neither have elicited company response:

Although they appear to be different from their titles, it seems like they might be the same problem. Both concern flickering problems with set-up dialog boxes. One is for setting up loans and the other for setting up online banking.

It looks like the problem is only on Macs, but not all commenters have indicated their platform.

It seems to be new since the 617 release: there are no previous reports that I could find here, on the old forum, or on trac.
