Matching to wrong transaction
When I download transactions from my bank, it will try to highlight the transaction it assumes I'm trying to match to. Sometimes the program guesses wrong. So, I click and highlight the transaction it should be matching to and hit Record. But, it still wants to put that "i" in the wrong transaction. Is this a bug or am I missing something. There should be someway to force the program to match to the correct transaction.

Inappropriate?I agree - it would be nice if MoneyDance worked that way!

Inappropriate? The proper way to override an incorrect match is to select the drop-down box at the top of the list of downloaded transactions. That will let you choose between all possible matches, similar transactions (to reuse the payee and category fields) or just to record a new transaction.
We're looking at ways to make this more intuitive and streamlined for Moneydance 2009.

Inappropriate?Sean, I know about the dropdown list, I think that's intuitive enough. But sometimes that dropdown list does not include the transaction that I want to match - it would be nice if I could just click on a transaction in the register to indicate that's the one I want to match.

Inappropriate? The drop down list never gives me the option to match another transaction. I download transactions from my Fidelity investment account and accept them. Two days later I download again and the same transactions are there. All show as new transactions with no option to match the existing transactions in the pull down menu even though the dates, security, and amounts are all the same as the transactions previously recorded. I'm using Moneydance 2008r3 (631).
