Select Accounts in Account Balances Report
Sean, Ash, & Co. -
The Account Balances report would be a whole lot more useful if we could select some subset of one or more accounts to report on. As it works now, it only reports on all accounts at once. This doesn't tell me anything I can't see from the home page. In the Income and Expenses reports, I can select one or more accounts by clicking or Cmd-clicking (in Mac) and just get a report on those accounts. If this same feature were available on the Account Balances report, I could get a report that shows the balances in our various retirement accounts (a subset of the investment accounts); or I could run a report on our Home Value (asset) and Mortgages (loan) accounts to get the equity in the home.
While we're on the subject, the Transactions and Cost Basis reports would benefit from this same feature. In those two, you currently can select only one account at a time for the report. Why not allow multiple accounts with Cmd-click?
It doesn't seem like this would be hard to do, since the same feature is already available on other reports.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Much more flexibility and user customization is required in all of MD's reports. This is quite a serious weakness of MD right now. What's the point of collecting all this data if you can't refer back to it in a useful form?
