Splits not grouped with their own Categories in Transaction Reports

When I do a Transaction Report and filter by tag, transactions that were split are grouped at the top of the report rather than included in the appropriate categories. For example, if I have a bunch of transactions categorized as, say, Computer Expenses, and others categorized as Office Expenses, and then I create a Transaction Report that is supposed to subtotal by category, this is what happens instead.

The report does include a category of Computer Expenses, where it lists and totals all of the single "non-split" transactions in that category. It does the same for Office Expenses.

However, transactions that include one or more splits are grouped at the top of the report with all the other mixed-category split transactions, and the individual splits are NOT included in the total for their categories in the rest of the report.

To get a total for Computer Expenses, for example, first I get the sum from the actual list of "non-split" Computer Expenses in the report, and then I have to manually find and add in the Computer Expenses that appear in the list of splits along with all other other categories that have splits. This is a major PITA.

Does anyone know a way around this issue? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.
