Why Get Satisfaction?
So it is has come to my attention that no reason was given as to why Moneydance moved it's support forums here, away from it's old crusty forums.
The reasons are myriad but here are three of the best:
RSS - individual topics here have individual rss feeds that can be monitored by those that find the issues important. (GS also emails you if you'd like to be emailed when a topic is responded to).
Sign up - Our old forums sign up process was a mess, it frequently rejected people, it was constantly being hit by spam bots, and you needed yet another set of users names and passwords for our site. With GS you just have the one login, and it enables you to post your issues with Moneydance or other services or products. And there are no spammers or associated annoyances.
Search - Search here works, it was not so good on the old forums. Not only that but when making a new post, Get satisfaction checks through the old posts to see if some one has already posted something similar. That should help cut down on reposting of the same material over and over.

Inappropriate? This forum would be fine if questions and or problems actually get posted. I posted one this morning about cd interest in an investment account. Signed up as a user etc, posted my problem only to have my entry disappear. It did show up for about ten minutes initially. Now it is gone.
I like MD but this is getting frustrating.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?RSS - The e-mail notification doesn't work. I have not received a single e-mail notification from getsatisfaction (and yes, I have set my preference to send notifications). I'll have to investigate setting up RSS.
Sign up - I had to sign up with a new user name to use getsatisfaction.
I can appreciate the problems with spam and maintaining the old forum. Using getsatisfaction seems to be just trading one set of frustrations for another. -
Inappropriate?sbourne - did you post then delete the post - I got an email - and can't find it !!! crazy whooo whoooo
I’m scared !!

I put a link to here from another thread. You wouldn't think that would generate a notice... -
Inappropriate?E-mail from a site called "GetSatisfaction" is likely to get flagged by just about everyone's spam filter, which may explain e-mail not reaching people. (This just happened to me, with a password reminder e-mail.) An unfortunate name for the site!

Inappropriate? We're looking at alternatives to GS, including a service that was released today called Tender (http://tenderapp.com). Anyone have feedback on that? I think the interface is vastly better than this site, and it integrates with email so we could handle all of our support queries via Tender instead of just the web forum. Of course, we wouldn't (as far as I can tell) be able to import the old forum posts or posts from this forum into the new site.
