Performance doesn't equal pay in congress!

In times of economic trouble, where so many american companies are still moving jobs out of the U.S. and asking employees here to take huge pay/benifit cuts, while CEO's and management still receive huge salaries and bonuses, why is government still giving them tax breaks and why isn't government, both federal and state taking the same pay/benifit cuts that they are allowing these companies to force on to the american people ? Their approval rating is so low that based on performance alone they should be forced to take a pay cut. In my husbands company his raise is based on performance, hours worked, dependability and company profit. Based on this scale government pay is hypocracy at its greatest.
