open replies inline

I quite like the re-direct method, I think it works better in-case the conversation thread is quite long. There's no bogging down the main timeline that way. SimplyTweet on the iPhone has a good implementation:



To get to this screen you either click on a tweet then click a conversation bubbles icon, or swipe your finder across a tweet in the timeline and again click the icon. Obviously Brizzly would add it differently, but already has the user-menu when clicking on a persons profile picture which would be an ideal place to put the button/link.

the dialog in the DM is awesome. Can it happen in the replies? Think about Gmail way! =)

Some times when i see a replie, i like just to click on "Follow conversation (in mixero)" or "in reply to... (on Digsby twitter timeline)"

One thing would top this off. It would be nice to be able to see threaded conversations right inside the Twitter timeline without leaving the page..

Please add support to "Threaded conversations" like itweet.net or Hootsuite, that means when click on "in reply to", brizzly will fetch the tweet by himself and display it, but not go to an address such as twitter.com/username/status/1234567. Because of the famous "Great Firewall" in China, we people in China mainland cannot visit twitter.com, and so cannot see the replied tweet. Thank you!

Why can't we thread tweets? as in, under a tweet that is a reply, it says 'in reply to ___'. When I click this, why can't I be transported to a sort of 'conversation page' that lists the replies between the two parties?

I agree that that this is definitely a good idea. Threaded replies helps a user understand what the original is in response to. Sometimes when I get a reply I am a loss so as to what the original message was about. Threading alleviates this confusion for me.

Hi there - so far Brizzly looks much better than the native Twitter front end, which I find hard to get into compared to say, Facebook.


There's only one big feature missing that I think would really knock it out of the park for me: the ability to see replies to tweets as threads. My number one complaint about Twitter is that it's hard to follow conversations because it all just appears as one big feed, and tweets relating to the same subject are not contiguous. I'd love to see all the @'s related to a tweet appear directly below the tweet!

Glad to hear this is in the works! And yeah, I don't want to have to go to a separate page, just show the original tweet inline with the replies underneath. Great that you guys seem to be thinking along those same lines.

I'd really like better conversation tracking, some sort of nested replies a la http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/3... or even the "show conversation" feature in Twitter Search.

Hmm. Topic sort of speaks for itself. Should be great to have.

A full conversation view would be even better, but I guess it'll be a little harder to implement.

(for example - see HootSuite, the only relatively easy client I noticed that has this feature).

Conversation tracking is what makes clients like Gravity so sucessful

Is there any plans to implement a 'conversation threading' feature into Brizzly? So the user can double click on a tweet & see the tweet timeline that lead to that tweet?

This is the feature that will make Brizzly a usable twitter client. Without conversations it's pointless.

How about an iphone style conversation. Where we can see the replied tweet under the reply tweet. Also makes it easier to understand who is taking to whom.

I just wanted to request this function as follows:
by clicking "in reply to", the tweet expands with just that single reply. This should be the easiest solution. The best, but more complex next step would be a "show conversation" link that shows the full conversation with all replies.

The advantage of my model (in two steps) is:
- The first step is easy to program and easy on the servers. It's quick and easy in usage. For 9 out of 10 times, this satisfies my needs.
- The second step is more complex: probably would give you a new window, and is harder for Brizzly's servers to retrieve. Yet sometimes, I just don't get the topic when only reading the last tweet and the tweet it was a reply to.

Just Waiting for this, it's one of the fewest things missing in Brizzly, add this and a sound for Mentions/DM, and I'll never use another twitter client
