Sequencer MaxM not talking?
Newbie to the Arduino/BlinkM world. I am using Arduino 0012 on a new Arduino Duemilanove with a BlinkM MaxM. I load the communicator to the Arduino, unplug, reconnect, run sequencer for Win XP. RX light on the Arduino flashes when playing a sequence, but the BlinkM continues to run it's out of the box sequence.
Tried the BlinkM tester and could get back version, stop the out of box script and start the script again.
I would like the sequencer to perform just like in the videos. What am I missing out on?

Inappropriate?Hi sarendec,
How are you connecting the MaxM to the Arduino?
The preferred connection method when MaxM is powered by Arduino is shown here:

If you are powering MaxM from an external supply, then you can do something like this:

The equipment is connected in the same way as the first photo, powered by the Arduino Duemlianovae (2009). I have verified the connections. -
Inappropriate?Hi sarendec, Here's all the steps I did on a fresh Vista install on a laptop:
First, I visit the FTDIchip site and get the latest version of the USB-to-serial driver and install it. The driver that comes with Arduino is fine too.
Then I download the latest version of the Arduino software and use it to install a fresh version of BlinkMCommunicator on the Arduino. After that I download a fresh copy of BlinkMSequencer for Windows.
With the MaxM wired up to the Arduino as in the previously-mentioned photo, I plug the Arduino's USB cable into the laptop. The Arduino appears as "COM4" to Windows (on my laptop) and the MaxM starts running its default light script. I run BlinkMSequencer, click the "Set connection" button to set the port to "COM4". Then I pick a color from the color picker. Doing that both sets the color of the first step in the light sequence and sends that color to MaxM, stopping the default light script and turning the MaxM the color. Then I select other steps in the light sequence and set their colors; each time MaxM changes to match. Then I click "Play" to try out the sequence and finally click "Upload to BlinkM" to save it to the MaxM.
(Note: there's currently an issue with the sequencer where the "3 second" loop saved on the MaxM plays at twice the speed as on-screen)
