Sequencer Problem??
I've got my first set of "test" BlinkM's and think they are almost cooler than sliced bread!
My issue is, when I try and reprogram the color sequence using the Sequencer application, it does not seem to keep the new program and continues to play the original/first sequence I sent it. I am hoping to have time to learn how to actually program these over the coming week but was wondering if I was doing something wrong when I try and re-sequence the colors.

Hi Rajiv,
Try downloading the latest version of the BlinkMCommunicator Arduino sketch at:
http://thingm.com/fileadmin/thingm/do...
You may have been using the one inside the BlinkM_Examples.zip example bundle or an older version. Those had a small serial bug which has now been fixed.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the good words. Two questions:
1. Does it play your new sequence at all when it's plugged into the Arduino?
2. Does it still play the original sequence even after you've clicked on the "Send to BlinkM" button? -
Inappropriate? It will never play the new sequence either connect to the Arduino or stand alone.
It does still continue to play the first sequence even after repeated uploads of different sequences both stand alone and connected.
Is the BlinkM supposed to automatically play the sequence right after its been uploaded? As I could not get my to play the sequence until I moved it from the program slots to the PWR+GND slot.... -
Inappropriate?A tangential question: Are you disconnecting the Sequencer from the Arduino (i.e. clicking on the "Disconnect" before you unplug the Arduino and before you unplug the BlinkM) and the Arduino from the computer before you unplug the BlinkM?
-
Inappropriate?Yes, I always do the disconnect, unplug power, unplug BlinkM from programming slot, plug BlinkM into power slot, plug in power.
Then it will do its sequence. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to start the sequence while still in the programming slots.... -
Inappropriate?Okay, after having the weekend to clear the fizzies, upon closer inspection, the BlinkM is NOT playing any of the sequences programmed to it. It seems to be playing the built in power on script, White, Red, Green, Blue, dark, repeat.
I have read the entire PDF data sheet 2x this morning trying to wrap my head around programming it manually, but am still confused about what is actually needed to interface with it.
-
Inappropriate?Well, I might have solved my problem....
I downloaded the Arduino 0011 software and uploaded BlinkMSequencer.pde to the board.
Now I can upload a sequence to the BLinkM and its stored and it also runs the sequence in the programming slot after its uploaded.

Inappropriate?Great! Yeah, downgrading to Arduino 0011 solves a lot of problems. As soon as we have a version of BlinkM Communicator that works with 0012, we'll make an announcement here.
I’m glad it's only Ye Olde 0012 problem.
-
Inappropriate?I just received my order of 10 BlinkMs. But I'm having the same problem: the BlinkM only plays the startup sequence. I've downgraded Arduino from 013, to 012, to 011, and none are working. Please send suggestions soon.
I’m frustrated
