Why don't you offer Paypal? Last reply on July 03, 2008 04:11.

Unfortunately we have no immediate plans to offer PayPal as a payment option. PayPal is not supported by our merchant account and also does not offer the level of fraud protection we require. It may change sometime in the future, just no time soon.

Bug: Logging in clears out your shopping cart Last reply on July 01, 2008 15:24.

I get the weekly emails of new designs, I often find 1 or 2 I like, and end up adding to my cart. When I hit checkout, I remember I should log in, since you have all my address details and my threadless points, but when I do, my shopping cart gets cleared out every time. Usually I quit, sometimes I go back and shop again for stuff, but I really wish Threadless worked like Amazon where stuff in your cart isn't lost when you log in at payment time.

I captured a short movie of this bug (and described it on my blog as well):
    http://images.metafilter.com/threadle...

The first one shows adding to cart, logging in, then going to cart shows it is empty.
The second bit at the end shows a shirt in the cart, then logging in, and seeing the cart get emptied. I've noticed this bug for the last year or two and I think it'd result in a lot more sales if it was fixed.

How can I get a response from Threadless customer support after getting in to a black hole? Last reply on May 12, 2008 17:28.

Short story... ordered shirts from threadless. One shirt has two obvious holes. Email about exchange or other possibilities. I can get the shirt exchanged, or I can get a 10 dollar coupon. I say okay, that would be fine, but would feel a lot better about the deal if some shipping costs for that order or a future order are also discounted. Then I hear nothing, for 10 days. Email again, hear nothing for 4 days, email again, hear nothing for 4 more days. Starting to wonder if I'm in a "do not reply to" list.

Note: I do know there is no "black hole", I apologize if sarcasm is inappropriate :)

Whose Rights Are They, Anyway? Last reply on April 22, 2008 23:42.

Could you explain the revenue sharing arrangement between Threadless and submitting artists, and also if an art licensing agreement has ever been considered, instead of the current Threadless acquisition of all rights. In other words, to get the best quality of art and design submissions, it is common for a licensing arrangement to be reached (usually a flat fee, plus commission on sales). Threadless would attract higher quality artists and artwork by using a licensing agreement found commonly in licensing agencies. Thanks for your reply in advance.

What are the best ways to lengthen the life of your t-shirt? Last reply on March 21, 2008 00:45.

My friend's girlfriend tells me that he irons his T-shirts. He takes them out of the dryer while they are still a little damp and irons them dry. Will this really make them last longer? What other suggestions do you have?

What brand of t-shirts do you print on? Last reply on March 13, 2008 22:28.

What brand/make of t-shirts do you use for men's and women's apparel these days? I know you used to use American Apparel for women and Fruit of the Loom 50-50 for men, but then there was a big debate about what to use going forward. What are you using now and why?

    Who made Threadless and why?

Threadless was created by Jake Nickell and Jacob DeHart. They came up with the idea after Jake Nickell won the NMUF London tee shirt competition. It felt good to win a tee shirt competition and we thought it'd be cool to extend that to the level that Threadless has become.

The two Threadless Jakes met on dreamless.org a while back. They both are web developers who live in Chicago and love tee shirts and posters.

How are the winning submissions chosen?

We look at the top 300 designs every couple of weeks and pick out around 10 designs that we want to print based off of the designs score, comments, and the number of i'd buy it's. Ultimately the decision of which shirts get printed are left up to us. The scoring system helps give us a general idea of which designs our customers want.

    How do I score submissions?

To score submissions, you simply need to join the Threadless community, navigate to the 'score submissions' section and begin scoring. Score each shirt on a scale of 0-5 (0 being bad). The system will keep track of which shirts you have scored so when you come back you will be all ready to score new designs. There is also a checkbox when scoring to 'promise to buy'. This is just another tool we use to gauge the response to the tees. We will not FORCE you to actually purchase it if it wins.
