Gray space remains when thumbstrip closes; scrolling hard to control
In Firefox 3.0.5 on a MacBook Pro, two problems:
1) When I close the thumbstrip window, that area of the Firefox window remains blank (grayed out).
2) Scrolling seems very difficult to control. Sometimes the thumbstrip begins to move of its own accord; often it won't stop when I click the trackpad button.

Inappropriate?Hi Paul,
We've done some light testing on a Mac, although most of the development was done on a Windows box. What other extensions are you using?
When you close the ThumbStrips window can you re-open it and have ThumbStrips function normally?
As far as scrolling is concerned, try turning off the option for "Scroll by moving mouse along Thumbstrip" under configure -> options in the ThumbStrips menu. Scrolling can be sensitive and turning this off will only scroll if you use the scrollbars and will ignore your mouse position.
Hope this helps.

OK, a few more notes here. First, the gray space problem seems to occur only after I resize the thumbstrips window more than once (make it bigger, then make it smaller again, then close it.) Second, my FF add-ons are: 1-clickWeather, Adblock Plus, Firefox PDF Plugin for Mac OS X, Google Toolbar, Interclue, LibX University of Michigan Libraries, and Zotero.
On the scrolling, I did try turning off the move-by-mouse option, but it still scrolled by itself. -
Inappropriate? We know this is an issue and I have it on my mac as well. I just dont resize the TS window. It is certainly not a solution but unfortunately there is no way to keep it from greying out.
As for the scrolling issue, I do not see that on my Mac. The scroll is the same as on my windows box so I would like to understand more about that. Try Scott's fix and let us know how that worked. -
Inappropriate?I have a similar issue with resizing - making it smaller leaves grey space (the resize bar enlarges so the thumbstrip is made smaller but your browser never gains any space) but the thumbstrip always disappears fully when closed (regaining all browser space).
Also running on a Mac (Leopard and FF 3.08).

That is exactly what happens on my mac as well. It sucks and we have tried fixing it and it wont seem to go away. We would love input from anyone else that has expertise in the difference between FF rendering on Mac vs PC, since this has been a real pain.
