New huge demo online! (Time Terminal) Last reply on July 06, 2008 05:56.
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let you know our in-house Tibbo BASIC wizards have just posted a really big demo project, implementing a full Time and Attendance terminal. Some cool features on the demo: HTTP access, works with EM1000-TEV, full Access Log implementation.
The project is really big. The code is well commented. I think it's a really cool addition to our tools, because you can either use it as an educational tool (to see how objects are used and learn some coding techniques) OR you can just take it and use it as a basis for your own commercial product!
That's right -- you can use this code freely (and any code our guys post on the Tibbo website) for your own commercial products, without releasing it back as open source. Just take it, customize it, and make something cool.
The project does have some kinks still (does not work under Firefox! We're working on that one..) but it is a very useful resource.
Have fun with it, and tell me what you think! -

Em1202 firmware problem - wrong firmware installed Last reply on July 06, 2008 05:50.
Hi,
I purchased the EM1202 board but accidentally installed the firmware for the EM202 board. Stupid mistake, but now I can't see the board in device explorer so I have no way to get the right firmware on there.
Help!
Thanks,

Tibbo Lan to serial code needs a reboot to run after power up - Why? Last reply on June 26, 2008 08:04.
Whenever I power up my DS202 I always have to re-boot via the Tibbo IDE for my lan to serial port code in the Tibbo to work correctly. Before I do the re-boot I can see from the icon in Device Explorer that the Tibbo is supposed to be running.
Is there anything that I can code into the Tibbo to guarantee full operation on power up without the need to send a command from the PC? -

EM202 serial flow control problem Last reply on June 25, 2008 09:21.
Hi there again,
we are pushing some data (about 100bytes at a time) though serial port with 38 400 bps., then we forward it over UDP broadcast. Time to send 100bytes at this speed is about 30ms. So, when sending every 50-60ms, everything goes ok, no data loss occurs. But then sending every 30-35ms, with uart flow control enabled and in full-duplex mode, something strange happen: after a while, when flow control needs to be used (probably due to buffer filling), data sent through uart is constantly repeated and no new data is beeing received. It just keeps sending the same data on and on.
I can't find any reason why this is happening.
thanks in advance

how to command the RS232 lines on EM1202EV-RS-01 board Last reply on June 25, 2008 07:57.
Hello everyone,
I have a EM1202EV-RS-01 board, and, I need to connect to a device that needs the DTR on. I suppose that to set the DTR I need to use the io.state.
The problem is to know which is the line to enable (from the manual - platform dependet- All I/O lines of the EM1202 platform require explicit configuration as inputs or outputs ). which line PL_IO_NUM_x I have to enable on this board to bset the DTR signal? (there isn't the manual for this board)
thanks for the support
ciao

Network UDP broadcast codes - do we have a better list of formats anywhere? Last reply on June 20, 2008 09:39.
Using a packet sniffer I have found that to reboot the DS202 over the network I need to send "_" followed by "[the mac address]" followed by the reboot command "E". Not just The reboot command on its own (as per Tibbo Documentation). The full string being ...
""_[0.202.0.0.158.236]E".
This is the only command that works correctly though. I can't get the version reply by using "V", and "T" only sends me back an "A".
Is the broadcast mode better documented anywhere? -

EM202 firmware upgrading problem Last reply on June 19, 2008 06:46.
I have a problem uploading new firmware on EM202, either EM_366D.BIN or TIOS firmware. When clicking Upgrade and selecting file, I get error message saying that firmware upgrade was aborted due to communication error or wrong firmware file (I assume that latter is not the case). I'm upgrading through UDP protocol. The device is connected also to serial port on the other side. Can anyone tell what's going on?
thanks in advance

Rebooting the DS202 across the network Last reply on June 16, 2008 19:20.
When an application hangs and the virtual serial port is left open. Is it possible to perform a reset of the DS202 hardware using TCPIP or UDP. If so what would be the command I would need to use. -

EM1000-TEV is Out Now! Last reply on June 16, 2008 07:55.
Hi guys,
We've got a new product out, EM1000-TEV. It's a complete kit built around the EM1000, with an integrated keypad, LCD, 2 serial input boards, 2 I/O board and optional WiFi.
In short, it's got everything you need to create your own _complete_ terminal, based on Tibbo-BASIC, really fast. I personally think it's a very cool device -- it's like RAD (rapid application development) but for an actual hardware device.
We've issued an official press release, and it has a bit more information on this. I'm including it below.
---------------------------
TIBBO ANNOUNCES NEW EM1000-TEV DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM FOR ITS EM1000 BASIC-PROGRAMMABLE MODULE
Taipei, Taiwan. 11 June, 2008.
The EM1000-TEV is a sophisticated development platform, consisting of a motherboard with an EM1000 module and an optional WA1000 Wi-Fi module, as well as a number of additional boards. These boards include an LCD board, keypad board, and four interface boards. Two of the interface boards feature universal RS232/422/485 ports, while the remaining two boards each have three relays and three optically isolated inputs. Relays can be used to switch external loads, while isolated inputs can be connected to various sensors. Additionally, these inputs can be used to connect standard Wiegand or clock/data card readers.
The hardware of the EM1000-TEV is fully supported by a sophisticated Tibbo BASIC demo application that implements a data collection terminal with onscreen setup menus, remote browser-based setup, an event log stored on the EM1000’s flash disk, and many other important facilities. The source code for this demo application is posted on the Tibbo website and can be used freely by our customers.
“Our BASIC-programmable modules, such as the EM1000 device, are quickly gaining traction among developers”, said Dmitry Slepov, the Managing Director and one of the founders of Tibbo Technology. “The release of our new EM1000-TEV development system demonstrates that the EM1000 can be successfully used in a wide range of devices such as data collection terminals, control panels, and automation equipment. Since the new development system contains all hardware facilities typically required in a data collection or automation device, software developers can start working on their new applications immediately, without waiting for the new product’s hardware to be ready. Additionally, the availability of a comprehensive demo application will further shorten the product development cycle, by allowing Tibbo customers to freely reuse significant portions of the source code in their projects.”

calling functions from javascript code Last reply on June 15, 2008 17:02.
Hi there;
I am using EM1000 platform with TIDE 2.6.22.
Is there any suggested way to interact javascript code with basic code? What I want to do is, to call a basic language written function when for example a button is clicked without posting to a new html site. In other ways i want to call a basic language written function from a javascript function . My aim is not to refresh the whole html site for just a function call. Currently i found a hack for this using XMLHttpRequest. Is there a known, better way ? Thank you in advance! -

DHCP does not set IP Last reply on June 06, 2008 11:06.
Hy, i use the em1000ev and em1202ev, i try to use the dhcp and dhcp_and_setup code samples in the site, but my router doesn't set a ip to any of both EM's. My router as the ip 192.168.1.1 .
If before the dhcp Discovery i set the net.ip to 192.168.1.105 the dhcp code works and i get the first ip offered by the router 192.168.1.100. but.
If i let the net.ip equal to nothing, the discovery fase doesn ́t get any answer from the router.
I did not change nothing more in the code.
Does any one get the code to work?
Thanks again for any help. -

Using flashdisk object - code check request Last reply on June 03, 2008 01:13.
I would like to ask for a check of my code using fd object.
Is it the right way to use fd object?
Is necessary to use mount after each power up?
Is it possible to truncate a file?
For what stands fd.buffernum?
For what stands fd.setbuffer and fd.getbuffer?
Is it necessary to allocate buffers like serial or socket object? (I didn't see buffrq method.)
'FD prepare
fdres=fd.format(100, 10)
'fd.format(data_size, num_stored_files)
'data_size as word: number of sectors (256 Byte each sector)?
'num_stored_files: allowed maximal number of files
fd.mount '?
'Create and write file
fdres=fd.create("asd.txt")
fdres=fd.open("asd.txt")
fdres=fd.setdata("Some data...")
fdres=fd.setdata("More data...")
'fd.filenum stands to select a specific file, like ser.num property? (so is it a file handle?)
fd.close
'Open and read file
fdres=fd.open("asd.txt")
astr=fd.getdata(250)
fd.close
And a last question, will be longstrings intoduced in the next update? -

INFO Last reply on May 28, 2008 07:18.
I want to know whether the long-awaited, at least from me, new documentation module EM1000 with new items (fd, LCD, etc. ...) is about to quit? or if you have a date scheduled for this exit? Via mail, I was told that it would be out in early May, but still nothing! The new items make the EM1000 very interesting (even before it was) but without documentation remains a theoretical interest! Type what pins connect LCD? With what procedures except with the object FD?
Sincerely
