Color of stitching on the handle Last reply on July 03, 2008 01:29.

I just received an order from Timbuk 2 and loved everything except the small Cargo Tote. I love the colors, aqua/sea green/aqua. It has a black handle, which is what I expected because that is what it showed in the picture. However the stitching on the handle is the color of French's yellow mustard, and it looks very strange with the aqua and green in the tote. I went back online to check and see if the tote actually showed this color stitching, but the website has been updated (I think because of new merchandise), and I can't see the tote I purchased. Does anyone know if the tote is suppose to have a black handle with this horrible yellow stitching - it is very noticable and makes the tote look like it was bought in the dollar store where they sell stuff that doesn't come out right when it is made.

Foldable tote bag Last reply on June 25, 2008 23:41.

I saw the post a couple of days ago about someone wanting a lunch tote, and that got me thinking about how an extra bag comes in handy for me at times. So how about a foldable ballistic nylon tote bag in the style of the cargo & market tote but without the organisational panel and (maybe?) the waterproof liner, that can be folded flat easily. It'll be great for when I stop at the supermarket on my way home or when I need to bring home extra stuff. Most totes out there(including the ones the supermarket sells) are thin, poorly put together and fall apart easily. I've had handles come unstitched(while carrying it) and the bottom fall out. I like to be green and refuse the plastic bags, but not if I'm going to have my shopping all over the floor of the train or pavement, and a dependable lightweight tote would be great to have.

Suggestions to Make My Cargo Tote Even Better Last reply on June 12, 2008 22:54.

I love my large cargo tote, but in addition to some of the suggestions already made (divider long-ways and putting in a key fob):

    1. I think the double handles could be slightly longer, so it hangs down a bit lower for easier access into the bag while it's on my shoulder.

    2. Consider adding in a thin strip that would snap in or velcro in a cell phone in that pocket. I know you make a separate cell phone holder, but when I use the built-in cell phone pocket, my phone slides out.

    3. The zippered pocket is a great idea, but needs to be slightly bigger by like an inch in both directions to hold, say, my wallet and keys.

Custom cargo totes - print fabrics Last reply on June 11, 2008 23:26.

I'd like to get a custom Cargo Tote. But since I'm spending extra for a custom build, I want some print fabrics to choose from, too. I know you had some print fabric options when you had the custom Market Totes, so I hope that you will soon have print fabrics for the custom Cargo Totes, too.

I hope you offer more print fabric options in general, in the future. I love the combination of solid colors and complementing prints on bags. I think that's a new look that should be popularized, rather than having to choose between just solid colored bags or overly crazy print bags (for example - Jansport, Kipling, Ju-Ju-Be, other baby bag companies, etc.).

No other company seems to have a bag similar to your Cargo Totes so far (hard to believe), so I hope you will SOON offer many more colors and print fabric options!! Thanks.

Biking with a cargo tote? Last reply on June 06, 2008 14:11.

What's the best way to bike with the cargo tote? I'd like to use it as a beach bag, but the shoulder strap doesn't get short enough to prevent the bag from scraping on the tires (I'm pretty short). Any ideas? Has anyone tried putting the handles over their shoulders and wearing it like a backpack?

Can I see the custom Cargo Tote in a store? Last reply on June 03, 2008 22:55.

I am hesitant to order a custom Cargo Tote online (since it's non-returnable) without first seeing one/some in real life to see actual colors and how it fits my body and my stuff. Roughly how soon will it be before there will be some in retail stores or in a Timbuk2 store? Thanks.

Bag options for 17" Macbook Pro Last reply on May 29, 2008 05:37.

I'd like to know which Timbuk 2 products will best accommodate a 17" Macbook Pro. I'd appreciate suggestions beyond the laptop messengers, although that will be appreciated as well. If any cargo totes, ballistic messengers, etc. will fit I'd love to know so I can weigh in on all options.

I had used a medium messenger with a sleeve for a 12"powerbook before and loved it.

What size is my 2006 tote? Last reply on May 27, 2008 22:34.

Hi - I'm trying to figure out what size my Timbuk2 tote is. I bought it in 2006 from a store called Changes in Latitude in Boulder, CO. It has seen A LOT of use and is currently soaking in a lovely coating of Shout gel in the hopes of getting the dirt out.

Anyway - I want to buy another tote, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what size my bag is. Maybe it doesn't exist any more? When I flip the bag over and measure the bottom of it from seam to seam is 14". With the bag sitting up and measuring from the floor to the black piping (so to the top not including the bit that lays down when it's zipped up) is 10". Not anywhere close to 11". When I measure the side at the bottom of the bag from seam to seam that measures 4". I'd estimate that when I measure the length of the bag at the top of the bag rather than the bottom, it's about 18".

Naturally my first inclination was a medium - 14" wide - ok, that's what mine measures at the bottom, 10.8" high - ok, mine is an inch shorter than that, but it's two years old, maybe it's squished or the measurements have changed; 7" depth - maybe this is the same as what I'm calling the side? Mine is 4" from seam to seam on the side piece at the base but maybe part of the large panels count too . . . or you're measuring at the top. Top of bag width 17.75" - ok, mine is about 18", so good.

What really threw me was the little picture for the "build your own bag." It shows the side measurement/depth/whatever as being 2.6" and there is definitely nothing on my bag that is that small. It also shows the bottom as being 18.9 inches and mine is only 14" at the bottom and 18" at the top, so that's weird.

    Help help.

    Thank you,
    Lisa

Make a Pannier Tote!! Last reply on May 23, 2008 19:25.

I think the cargo tote would make an AMAZING pannier. Make that zipper waterproof, throw some pannier hooks on one side or even just a solid velcro panel, stiffen up the sides a little and voila! A beautiful pannier that is also a tote and has that Timbuk2 flair!

cargo (large) in herringbone? Last reply on May 22, 2008 12:15.

Do you have the cargo (large) in the herringbone fabric? If not, I think it would look very smart. Not only men appreciate menswear-inspired fabrics! Also, would love to see the herringbone in different colors: e.g. charcoal gray, navy blue, khaki.

Color Question Last reply on May 14, 2008 19:04.

I recently bought the small cargo tote in silver with the middle being in lavendar. Is there a way to see if you have ever done this color combination but instead of having lavendar in the middle, you had pink? I thought I saw one at REI, but can't seem to find it. Perhaps it was an 07 closeout. Is there a way to find out if that color combination was ever made for this particular style and size??

Inside the cargo tote Last reply on May 12, 2008 16:10.

From the picture of the interior of the cargo tote there looks to be some 'pockets' across from the organisational panel. Its not listed in the features panel(or is it the Internal organizer pockets), so I'm wondering if its just a shadow or if its really there.
