I need a new backpack for school and am having trouble deciding between the commute and track daypacks. I would rather not have an excessively large bag, would the commute suffice for carrying a laptop with a few books/notebooks and maybe a spare layer or is something a little bigger going to be necessary?
I bought a ballistic nylon Track daypack about a year ago and the handle is tearing off. This is a lightly used bag and the rest of the bag almost looks like new. Is this normal?
Does the Track Day Pack laptop bag have a waterproof rubber bottom? I know it says so on the site, but when I was looking at a Track Day Pack in a local store, it had a normal bottom. Also, in some of the pictures of the Track Day Pack, it's hard to tell whether it has a waterproof rubber bottom.
I was also wondering how resistant to rain the Track is. I currently have a messenger bag and I love the rubber waterproof flap but my next bag will be a backpack that has to be able to resist rain for at most 15 minutes (my morning walk commute) with a laptop in it. Any other recommendations if the Track isn't best suited for rain?
I travel a lot, and i am looking for a good backpack that will protect my laptop (compaq presario f500) and while also doubling as a good carry-on. I'm wondering which is a better choice - the track daypack or the undergound? I'll also be using the bag on long walks for carrying groceries and such.
