Orange liner, where are you? Last reply on July 01, 2008 23:45.

Hooray! Large Laptop Messenger bags can be custom-made again!

But...where did the orange liner go? When will it return?

    Thanks,

Small girl has too big of a bag-what should she do?! Last reply on June 30, 2008 22:19.

I ordered a custom Lex Pack size large in light green/slate blue/black. It's beautiful...but I'm 5'4'' and it's HUGE. I feel so foolish because it's much too large for me and I know there is no return policy and I don't want to sell it on Ebay...

Does anyone have any ideas on how to sell it so I can get a medium?

P.S. I know I should have taken a better look at the dimensions, no need to berate me on being dumb.

MAD: No cross-strap for XS messenger Last reply on June 25, 2008 23:06.

Had my second bag delivered today - a custom XS messenger. Nowhere in the Build a Bag area does it mention this. The only place I found it was on the non-custom bag detail page. In addition - your FAQ on the cross-strap does not mention this either - in fact it makes a blanket statement about ALL single strap bags.

When I called for a return I had to make a case to get a custom bag returned - then I read the return instructions and I have to pay for shipping! So I had to pay shipping to get it here in order to find out it isn't really a messenger bag (it's a satchel) THEN pay shipping back to SF? Makes no sense.

You guys need to fix the Build A Bag to clarify what customers will receive.

And no, I'm not going to pay shipping to send it back to you so I can order a size S ($10 more! and bigger than what I need) and pay for you to ship that to me as well.

Will we see the return of the yellow liner? Last reply on June 06, 2008 17:33.

On Flickr I've recently seen a few custom messengers that have a yellow liner and I haven't seen that color in the bag builder over the last year. Are there any plans to bring that color back out?

Would the SF store have access to that color for a one off custom?

Can I send in my zeropergallon.com patch and have it sewn into the build a bag I want to order? Last reply on May 30, 2008 18:12.

I have a zeropergallon patch that I would like to have stitched into the bag, would it be possible to send it in and have it sewn into the center panel of my "dream" laptop messenger bag?

I have read the post that is 5 months old saying that you don't, but I wasn't certain if you have started doing that for a nominal fee after seeing the flickr post about how someone had theirs sewn prior to the liner being installed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryanhenb...

There is obviously a great deal of interest in this, and I think many opportunities and options would be opened up if you offered the option to have a patch or reflective material to be stitched in per customer request.

As a sidenote, how does the white ballistic nylon hold up / is it moderately simple to clean if it gets dirty?

I am fantasizing about a large Laptop Messenger with black/white/navy blue panels with a blue strap and white logo. Unless a nice new dark custom fabric comes in, then I might swap that in for the black. Gauging by the colors... I think the zpg patch would be right at home in that color scheme. It's now been over a month and a half of color swapping and trying to decide. There are so many choices... it's REALLY hard to narrow down.

Blinky Light Loop on Center panel available with limited fabrics? Last reply on May 22, 2008 12:34.

i want to order a custom built messenger and i wanted one with one of the "limited' fabrics in the center panel. on the builder, when i select a limited fabric it deletes the clip holder for a blinky light when commuting, i was wondering if this is just logistical or if i were to have a custom panel in the center it would indeed delete the loop for the light to clip to.

Does Timbuk2 make a dog backpack? If not, can you? Last reply on May 08, 2008 23:00.

I've been looking for a good pack for my dog so he can carry his own water and such while we're hiking and out and about. I recently found one that has a fantastic design (it doesn't look like a repuposed fanny pack, which is what most dog backpacks seem to be) made by a company called Ruff Wear. They have terrible color selections and I've emailed their customer service team to see if custom colors or other colors are possible, and the response was that they won't be updating their colors for a least a year. Their packs are made in the Philippines.

My question is, can Timbuk2 make a dog backpack? www.ruffwear.com is the website and the "Approach" is the name of the bag I'm interested in. I know you guys make awesome products that would be perfect for my rough and tumble 4-legged-friend, and I'd love to purchase one made in the United States. Is this something you are capable of? I don't see why Ruffwear won't help me out with some decent colors, but I suspect it is because their packs are made overseas and are probably purchased in bulk.

a few considerations for a custom messenger bag Last reply on May 06, 2008 00:47.

I'm considering getting my second Timbuk2 messenger bag. My first one was great! I've got a medium ballistic messenger bag. I kind of want something bigger though -- not that the medium doesn't hold my stuff. I'm envisioning something that would be on the big side for everyday use, but able to hold lots of stuff when I want to (I'm thinking like grocery shopping...which I'd need LOTS of room for). I'm considering the XL; I'm a pretty good sized guy, so I'm not so worried about being dwarfed by it, and I actually prefer it when my medium one is loose and kind of empty (it gets lumpy and uncomfortable when I get it really full). Could anyone with an XL comment on that plan; is it going to be way too big and cumbersome when I don't need all the extra space?

Second, I'm really liking the idea of the center divider option. I've already seen a few pictures and read some about it in other posts here, but I have a few more specific and clarifying questions. When you don't want the bag divided, you can velcro it shut and you have the whole big open area in the bag like the divider's not even there, right? Then, when you do open it up, how far does it stick out? Is it like a small pocket or is it like the size of half the bag (say, something you could get a nice, thick phone book or two into)?

My last question is about the X-Pac fabric; I'm somewhat confused by what I've read about it. Is it the slightly reflective stuff that's been discontinued? Basically, it's just really strong, light, and waterproof, no? I've seen a bag or two in stores I think might be made of X-Pac, but I'm not sure; is it kind of dull, not shiny like the ballistic?

I think that's it for now. Thanks a bunch for any help!

What about the bike light?? Last reply on April 26, 2008 06:00.

I recently decided to replace my well-used old Timbuk2 messenger bag, and bought a custom medium messenger bag made of ballistic nylon and love the way it turned out. But, it doesn't have a loop for a bike light!! Was that feature removed from the bags? I use that loop on my current bag every day!

Lex Pack in built laptop pouch Last reply on April 03, 2008 22:20.

    Hi all,
anyone knows if the Lex Pack can be customised into including a laptop pouch?
i know i could just use a laptop sleeve and throw it in but would really love it if the pouch was in-built (less of a hassle than having to take out the pouch, unzip, rezip u get the drift ;) )

Will the order of colors for lefty bags switch to mirror righty bags? Last reply on March 27, 2008 20:44.

If I custom order a lefty bag, will the colors all switch accordingly? For example, in the design page I choose the colors (from left to right): white, grey, navy blue, and the logo is on the white panel. If the bag was for a righty, the navy blue would be the leading color, and the white panel would be by my rear.

If I choose the lefty option and the bag rested on my left side, would bag still be designed with the navy blue in the front, and the white panel by my rear? Or would I have to order the colors (from left to right): navy blue, grey, white?

Sorry if this is a little confusing. I hope this is understandable. Thanks.

How to share a custom order with another person before ordering? Last reply on March 21, 2008 19:58.

How do I share a custom order (build your own bag) with another person _before_ I order it? I want to get the opinion of another person on my color choices, but I don't see any way to save an in-process customization or share a link to said customization.

I don't want to have to sign up or register to be able to do this, although if I were given the choice, I might. I want each combination I create to have a custom URL that is unique to the combination, not me... think about the Google Maps "Link to this page" function, which helps make it easy to share the final destination, even though the URL in the address bar doesn't change as you scroll around and zoom in and out, etc.
