Are pin buttons safe? I have a few buttons that use a needle to attach themselves to things, and I'd like to decorate the front of my ballistic messenger with them. I can attach it without puncturing the waterproof layer underneath, but I don't want to rip my bag or anything.

And what about iron-on patches?

i was wondering if you could help me. I am in the UK and planning to buy a custom Timbuk2 messenger bag. However, i am having difficulty getting a sense for the texture and colour of the different materials as here in the uk, there is no local shop where i can see the material swatches.
I have therefore been looking through your website as well as photos on flickr to get a sense for the various materials. I've seen a really good picture of a bag on flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/koalazym...
and i was wondering if you could you tell me if the bag in this picture is ballistic nylon or cordura as i would like to buy a bag which had a texture and finish similar to that one.

PS. As an aside, i'm thinking it might be really useful if you could put some swatches on flickr of all of the textiles at a really high resolution. I realise for the LE fabrics there is a link to http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/cms/border... but these images seem pretty low-res in comparison to the photo above where you can almost feel the grain of the fabric. There's no need to develop anything high tech with flash graphics, just put up a few high-res images on flickr with labels on the fabric type and colour.

I had my dream bag all ready to order just yesterday, and now the shade of brown I wanted in the bag builder has disappeared. Will it come back, or do I have to rethink my colour scheme?

do you have any pictures of a bag in "flint under pressure" fabric? I'm especially crious about the texture. A close up would be great! Thanks!

The herringbone blogger bag color shown is "brown", but the photo and fabric close-up from the flickr post look black to me. Is it just trick photography - or was there a black version at one time? If the 'brown' looks black in real life, that'll work for me.

When will ya'll be getting back the black underpressure fabric or new special fabrics in general?

I'm considering a black Eula bag, but I'm still deliberating on the fabric. I know there's plenty of topics about how they look, and the colors offered, but I'm more concerned with how they feel. I'm pretty sure I don't want the Ballistic, but the black Cordura and X-pac are both tempting. I'm definitely liking the lighter weight of the X-pac, along with its strength and waterproof-ness, but it seems like it could be a more "slippery" material, which is a down-side for me. I'm more inclined towards softer, natural fabrics, though I'd like to have a bag that will last more than a month, which is why I came here to timbuk2. So, can someone who has used both of these fabrics, or an employee, give me an idea of how the fabrics feel, perhaps in comparison to another material with which I'd be a bit more familiar?

In short, if you had a bag made of Cordura and a bag made of X-pac and you had to pick one to use as a pillow, which would you use?
