I saw a few Timbuk2 bags at Marshalls the other day (classic messenger, blogger, commute). Overstock models? Irregularities? They were $39.99 a pop. Will this be an ongoing trend?
I ordered a stock (not custom) laptop messenger bag with 2nd day shipping. Never received an email after my initial "order placed" email. Called customer service several times for 3 days in a row. Everyone was able to find my order but couldn't tell me anything about where it was. Each customer service rep assured me they would "take care of it" and email me once they had. I still have not received any email nor phone call. I leave on a multi-week trip tomorrow - guess I won't be taking a Timbuk2 bag. Extremely disappointed.
I just bought a medium sized messenger bag, and I customized it...but I am afraid it is too small. I go to law school, and I packed it up for the books I will have to carry on my busiest days, and it barely makes it, and looks funny stretched closed. HOW much bigger is the large? Is it going to be too big? I own an extra large, that I am able to pack for 3-4 day trips, so I know that is huge. What do people have to say about the large? I'm looking for 2-3 textbooks, a couple E&E books, Emmanuel Outlines to fit, if you don't know the size of those books you can look on amazon. Thanks for your help.
I have had my Timbuk2 bag for a very long time. The center divider has recently broken (the insides of it), and the velcro has pulled off. How can I order one of these, as it isn't in the accessories/replacement parts section.
I've already designed a Custom Eula X-Small messenger bag, and want to know if it will come with a padded shoulder strap? Seems that some bags do come with a padded straps, while others don't--and this one might be an exception since it's custom. Also my online research seems to show that 2008 bags should come with padded straps, while older ones don't.
When customizing a classic messenger bag, I noticed that you can add a laptop insert. Is this insert completely removable or not? I noticed that if you order a laptop messenger the insert is sewn in on one side. Is this the same for the classic?
Is there any chance that the Indigo fabric will come back? I see that the strap pad can still be purchased in that fabric/color but it's no longer a fabric option when building my own bag.
What is the best bag to get for commuting by bike? My commute is about 1 hour each way on bike and my bag is pretty heavy. My current back pack really pulls down on my shoulders and makes them very sore. It doesn't have a belly strap though. I want to buy a Timbuk2 because i need a more waterproof bag so i can ride in the rain. I was wondering if you thought a messenger would be more comfy for bike riding than a standard back pack. Thanks.
Basically, what is your opinion? The messenger, the metro? a tote? Since Timbuk2 hasn't made us a camera bag yet, I'd like some ideas of what you've used before I get one. I was thinking the metro, but I'm not sure yet.
Hi, I have been looking for a laptop messenger bag and was considering buying a Timbuk2 but then I saw the "Classic Messenger
Artist- GlueKi" and loved it but I wasn't sure if I could use it as a laptop bag for my 17" Macbook Pro? Thanks...=D
I have a classic messenger that's about 5 years old. Lately, when I carry anything heavy, the main strap not only slips through the cam buckle, but disconnects from the bag completely.
This has resulted in one damaged laptop, and one unfortunate incident with a watermelon and a bagful of unexpectedly absorbent stuff.
In the Build Your Own Bag section of the site, when you select the Large Messenger bag, then after you're done picking your fabrics, why can't you add a 15" Laptop Insert to the bag?
Hello. Within the Bag Builder of a large laptop messenger, when you change the middle panel's material to a Limited Edition fabric, the loop on the lower front disappears, but it's there when you change it back to a normal color. Does this mean having a limited edition fabric for the middle panel will cause the bag to be missing that loop? And how tough are the limited edition fabrics, really? As tough as ballistic/cordura?
Did the strap material change, say between 2000 and 2007?
I have two Timbuk2 bags, one a "Peewee" in Cordura that I bought new in 1999 or 2000 (I think). The other is a Classic Messenger, medium, in ballistic nylon, that I bought used a few months ago - I think it's only a year or two old. The Peewee has a nylon strap that is very soft and flexible, and it was always that way. I was surprised when I got my Classic and the nylon strap is a bit thinner and much stiffer, so much so that I found it downright uncomfortable without a strap pad.
Did you guys actually change your strap material/design or is it just me? I like the strap on the Peewee much, much better.
