I am currently trying to decide what size laptop messenger I should get. The bag is going to serve a few different purposes, a day trip bag, overnight trip bag, school bag, a bag that I can take to work with a change of clothes (I work in a daycare...sometimes we get messy) and a bag to take to my internship.

So basically can the bag hold a change of clothes or two, a laptop (macbook, hopefully becoming a macbook pro soon) and other odds and ends plus toiletries (hair brush, shampoo, etc), or 2 text books, 2 notebooks and a laptop, and other odds and ends you always need? Basically I am trying to find a bag that will fit everything I need but not be too big for when I am only carrying a few things.

Also, do the grab handle and shoulder pad thing matter that much?

Love your bags. Had one when I was land-based. But now working/living on sailboat, "commuting" via dingy to shore. Need bag that is splash-proof, rugged, will protect MacBook Pro from spray, rain, etc. and also carry power adapter and other accessories. Have you ever made anything that fits the bill? Know anyone who does? Some hard cases out there but they bang up the shins and the varnish. Any ideas? Thanks!

i have been trying to buy a timbuk2 off the dell website. they way they are labeled there does not make a ton of since to me but i am a simple indiana boy. i like the commute for the padded back and rear sipper pouch. i was thinking i would use that for files and what not. the messenger looks nice as well but it is the only bag dell is offering. opinions welcome!!!

I bought a T2 bag from REI about 3 years ago. I just ordered one, same color, also made of the ballistic nylon, but it feels more corse. Any changes in quality?

Do they have the same number of pockets? How many pockets are inside the bag? Are there any pockets on the outside of the bag?

which among the wool colors dark brown and brown wool is closer/similar to the chocolate brown wool of previous timbuk2 bags?

It's the size of a credit card, has a transparent plastic face, twill back, and has a big clip on back. Original bought somewhere close to Ann Arbor
