Hi, I'm a customer in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I just received 4 bags that I ordered during the 70% sale. After discounts, the bags cost me $81 plus $45 shipping for a total of $126US. When UPS delivered the bags today, they also collected $114.93CDN in duties and taxes!
According to the paperwork, UPS calculated the duties and taxes on the TBT invoice that was attached to the package, which showed an invoice value based on the full list price of the bags, not what I actually paid.
UPS has said that to receive a refund on the duties and taxes, TBT is required to fax/send a new commercial invoice containing the order number, waybill number and revised prices based on the actual amount paid.
I've spoken to TBT's customer service and they directed me to send an email with all the details to them. Hopefully this will get taken care of, otherwise the sale is virtually meaningless to Canadian customers. Just thought I'd post this to alert any other Canadians that are considering purchasing bags.
Apparently, TBT's off-site warehouse/shipper needs to get it's act together.
My order number is 5164764 and it consists of a large custom messenger bag and tough-tek strap pad.
The order was placed 5 working days ago and queries to customer service were not replied.
I tracked the order from your website and the following results turned up,
1) Custom bag builder tab: "Unable to locate shipment details"
2) Non custom item tab: "Scheduled delivery on 28/08/2008"
According to the UPS, the package which is stipulated to arrive on 28/08/2008 weighs only one pound.
A large custom messenger and tough-tek strap pad definitely weighs more than that, has my custom messenger been left out accidentally?
I decided on a custom messenger after hearing and reading great things about Timbuk2, am looking forward to using the new bag for the new semester which is less than 2 weeks from away.
I hope my first experience with Timbuk2 turns out to be a wonderful one.
I ordered a stock (not custom) laptop messenger bag with 2nd day shipping. Never received an email after my initial "order placed" email. Called customer service several times for 3 days in a row. Everyone was able to find my order but couldn't tell me anything about where it was. Each customer service rep assured me they would "take care of it" and email me once they had. I still have not received any email nor phone call. I leave on a multi-week trip tomorrow - guess I won't be taking a Timbuk2 bag. Extremely disappointed.
Why does it cost 35$ to ship to Canada, when it costs a maximum of 25$ to ship to the middle of the Pacific? I would like to buy a bag just a simple medium messenger with a laptop insert, but by the time its at my door step it'll cost an additional 55$ at least, I understand that the duty and taxes are unavoidable, why not just jam it into a tiny box and ship it out for cheap. I've shipped quite a few things to the states that are a lot heavier and larger then a bag and gotten 300$ insurance on it and only paid 25-30$ for the shipping, wouldn't you also be receiving a quantity discount since you are business and ship out I am assuming quite a few orders? Sorry for the rant but I am at a loss as to why the price is at what it is.
We like turkey too, so like you, we’ll be with our families for Thanksgiving and all bag making and shipping will be in a triptophen-induced coma from Thursday Nov. 22 through Sunday Nov. 25th. Never fear, we’ll get back to work on Monday Nov. 26 and all orders placed during the holiday will start shipping then!
I have to drive out of state this friday, and I was wondering if my bag would get here before then? I would love to have the bag before then so I can use it. My order number is: 5153888. i ordered a bag and strap last week. the strap came yesterday with a packing slip that said both items had been shipped on 6/12 but the bag didn't come. just wondering if my bag has been sent. order # is 5155665
I want to know if I am doing something wrong when I enter in my order# 5155544 it has been approximately 5 days since I placed the order and UPS still has no info about it. I also e-mailed customer service and I still have no response.
I ordered the an Hemp Commute bag on Monday and it's been 5 days and it looks like it hasn't even shipped yet. I said it would be "up to 3 days" from the order and i needed the bag for this weekend so i thought I would have plenty of time. Can I change it to 1 day shipping because I really need the bag this weekend. And you you guys really need to get rid of "up to 3 days" because it could be mis leading. I know you guys are usually good cause I am a huge fan of Timbuk2 and it never took more then 3-4 days to where I live every time I ordered. PLEASE RESPOND. UPS came on Friday (6/6) and delivered only the strap pad. Looking at the tracking info, UPS has only one shipment listed for that order number which, correctly, says was delivered on 6/6. The weight of the package was only .2lbs, so it doesn't appear as though the bag was included/wasn't left in the truck by the UPS delievery guy.
My order number does not link to any other tracking info on the UPS tracking info. This is my third post on here, and i have also tried getting in touch with customer service by email. This is absolutely ridiculous. For as many great things as I had heard about this company, I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service. I purchased this bag for my 6 week study abroad trip to England, and I'm not even sure I'll get it before i leave now. Please help.
I placed an overnight order for a Wool Laptop Messenger bag two days ago and haven't gotten a shipment notification yet. I was hoping to have it by Friday, having paid extra for overnight shipping and placing the order by 12:30PM PST on Tuesday. Help!

UPS came yesterday and delivered my package, per the shipping/tracking info from the UPS site. However all that it was was the $20 strap pad, and not my small messenger bacl. The order number is linked only to that on the UPS website. Did you guys forget to send out my bag as well? It was not custom.
Hi, I've placed 2 orders last wk and I've yet to get an updates on my orders.
I emailed and was informed that order no. 5152904 was to be shipped 2 days ago and but repeated emails for the delivery date were unanswered. And till today, I'm still not able to get any updates on the tracking page.

Each time I plug in my order number to your order tracker, it links directly to the UPS website. I'm just trying to find out when my order will ship. UPS can't make any sense of a Timbuk2 order number and I still don't know when to expect my merchandise.

I just wanted to say it would be really nice if you could find a way to send the bags internationally using a shipping method that costs a bit less than the 50 dollars listed now. I mean I would have been buying it using a card attached to a euro-based account, but it is still to expensive for me! I would have definitely bought a bag now, because there are so many I love--they're great because they have long straps which I need because I'm pretty tall--but I can't afford so much shipping!
ah well, just thought I'd let you know because if you get told by enough people, you could take the comms to the post office and wave them in front of them saying 'we got disappointed potential customers here!!' or something lol.
