When will Large Commute be Available? Last reply on June 27, 2008 17:56.
I purchased the Medium Commute for my husband for father's day. He loves it, but it simply isn't large enough. I know that the Large Commute in ballistic fabric is currently out of stock...any news on when it will be available? -

Lex Pack: Can I Squeeze it All In? Last reply on June 13, 2008 15:34.
I want an ergonomic backpack that I can put my (full) Timbuk2 X-Small Messenger bag, a 15" MacBook Pro (in a sleeve), and a lunch in for commuting. I'm looking at the Lex Pack. Do you think the large will fit all of this? (I think the XXL would be too large for me.) -

What does the inside of the wool laptop messenger look like? Last reply on May 30, 2008 20:52.
What does the inside of the wool laptop messenger bag look like? I am thinking of buying a medium, and I wanted to know how much gear I can pack in it. Is the size comparable to the commute bags? The dimensions on the medium are pretty close. -

What size is my 2006 tote? Last reply on May 27, 2008 22:34.
Hi - I'm trying to figure out what size my Timbuk2 tote is. I bought it in 2006 from a store called Changes in Latitude in Boulder, CO. It has seen A LOT of use and is currently soaking in a lovely coating of Shout gel in the hopes of getting the dirt out.
Anyway - I want to buy another tote, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what size my bag is. Maybe it doesn't exist any more? When I flip the bag over and measure the bottom of it from seam to seam is 14". With the bag sitting up and measuring from the floor to the black piping (so to the top not including the bit that lays down when it's zipped up) is 10". Not anywhere close to 11". When I measure the side at the bottom of the bag from seam to seam that measures 4". I'd estimate that when I measure the length of the bag at the top of the bag rather than the bottom, it's about 18".
Naturally my first inclination was a medium - 14" wide - ok, that's what mine measures at the bottom, 10.8" high - ok, mine is an inch shorter than that, but it's two years old, maybe it's squished or the measurements have changed; 7" depth - maybe this is the same as what I'm calling the side? Mine is 4" from seam to seam on the side piece at the base but maybe part of the large panels count too . . . or you're measuring at the top. Top of bag width 17.75" - ok, mine is about 18", so good.
What really threw me was the little picture for the "build your own bag." It shows the side measurement/depth/whatever as being 2.6" and there is definitely nothing on my bag that is that small. It also shows the bottom as being 18.9 inches and mine is only 14" at the bottom and 18" at the top, so that's weird.
Help help.
Thank you,
Lisa -

Which Size Timbuk2 Bag is Right For You? Last reply on May 11, 2008 19:58.
A lot of people ask us if a certain size bag will be too big or too small on them, so we're always looking for ways to help you find the right bag size for you.
I've dedicated a flickr set to photos of Timbuk2 employees (of various sizes) rocking our bags (of various sizes) and will be adding to it regularly. Hopefully you'll find someone here who is shaped more or less like you and maybe it will help you decide the right size bag for you. Good luck and let us know if you don't see your favorite bag paired with the right-sized T2 employee, we'll try to accomodate.

a few considerations for a custom messenger bag Last reply on May 06, 2008 00:47.
I'm considering getting my second Timbuk2 messenger bag. My first one was great! I've got a medium ballistic messenger bag. I kind of want something bigger though -- not that the medium doesn't hold my stuff. I'm envisioning something that would be on the big side for everyday use, but able to hold lots of stuff when I want to (I'm thinking like grocery shopping...which I'd need LOTS of room for). I'm considering the XL; I'm a pretty good sized guy, so I'm not so worried about being dwarfed by it, and I actually prefer it when my medium one is loose and kind of empty (it gets lumpy and uncomfortable when I get it really full). Could anyone with an XL comment on that plan; is it going to be way too big and cumbersome when I don't need all the extra space?
Second, I'm really liking the idea of the center divider option. I've already seen a few pictures and read some about it in other posts here, but I have a few more specific and clarifying questions. When you don't want the bag divided, you can velcro it shut and you have the whole big open area in the bag like the divider's not even there, right? Then, when you do open it up, how far does it stick out? Is it like a small pocket or is it like the size of half the bag (say, something you could get a nice, thick phone book or two into)?
My last question is about the X-Pac fabric; I'm somewhat confused by what I've read about it. Is it the slightly reflective stuff that's been discontinued? Basically, it's just really strong, light, and waterproof, no? I've seen a bag or two in stores I think might be made of X-Pac, but I'm not sure; is it kind of dull, not shiny like the ballistic?
I think that's it for now. Thanks a bunch for any help! -

Medium vs Large Messenger? Last reply on April 17, 2008 04:26.
I am trying to decide between the medium and the large ballistic messenger bags. I plan on commuting to and from work on my bike and I need to be able to pack sneakers, 2 pairs of shorts, shirts, small towell, and probably a couple of water bottles plus a couple of other small things. will the medium be too small and if I went with the large will it be too large for a person who is around 5'5'' ? -

Which size bag would be right for this situation? Last reply on April 16, 2008 02:52.
I am currently trying to decide what size laptop messenger I should get. The bag is going to serve a few different purposes, a day trip bag, overnight trip bag, school bag, a bag that I can take to work with a change of clothes (I work in a daycare...sometimes we get messy) and a bag to take to my internship.
So basically can the bag hold a change of clothes or two, a laptop (macbook, hopefully becoming a macbook pro soon) and other odds and ends plus toiletries (hair brush, shampoo, etc), or 2 text books, 2 notebooks and a laptop, and other odds and ends you always need? Basically I am trying to find a bag that will fit everything I need but not be too big for when I am only carrying a few things.
Also, do the grab handle and shoulder pad thing matter that much? -

Herringbone Blogger material & size question Last reply on April 14, 2008 20:37.
I just discovered the "Herringbone" version of the blogger bag .. is this the same as the "333" collection I see a bag advertised as on a different website? I may have to have this bag. Question - I am a short petite woman and am afraid this bag may be too large hanging down my side/shoulder? Is the strap adjustable to shorten enough so I don't look silly?
Also, would this material be just as water resistant as the balistic nylon version? Need to keep that laptop dry. (and would my 12" iBook be swimming in here?)
I need another bag like a hole in the head, LOL .. shh ... don't tell my husband. -

My laptop is 11.7" x 8.7" x 1.4". Which size sleeve would fit it best, if any? All Timbuk2's sleeves fit a laptop that is 1.3" high. -

Any reason to not use a bag as a sleeve? Last reply on April 14, 2008 18:05.
I've noticed that many of the bags are actually smaller than the corresponding-size laptop sleeve. For example, the small Wiki is 12.6" x 10" x 2" and accommodates a laptop that is 12" x 9" x 1.5" whereas the small Laptop Sleeve is 13.6" x 10.9" x 2" and accommodates a laptop that is 11.5" x 9.5" x 1.3".
So, is there any reason I should get a dedicated sleeve over a more traditional bag? I would be using it as a sleeve inside a larger bag. Would the external material of a bag such as the Wiki negatively effect using it as a sleeve?
