Inappropriate?I think that the Laptop Messenger is the most versatile for someone who uses a laptop. Esp since you can customize the colors. If he would like a laptop Backpack instead I would suggest the Hacker because it like the Messenger is waterproof.

Inappropriate?You can't dunk it in the bathtub, but it is lined with a waterproof tpu fabric. I've worn mine in the rain, dumped a whole glass of water, and had a wicked cat pee on my bag and nothing inside ever got wet. Just make sure you close it properly.
