Any plans to make panniers?
I have been a longtime fan of Timbuk2, and want to start carrying more off my back. Your stuff is waterproof, mega durable, and bike-tastic. Help me out please

Inappropriate?I definitely like the idea of panniers. At this point we don't have anything in the works, but our friend Ross Evans from Extracycle has tossed out a couple cool ideas for a messenger bag/pannier hack kit. We're also working on redoing the sewing facility downstairs and putting in a prototyping station in there. So we'll see...

Inappropriate?Score, I hope it works out. I love extracycle, but I dunno if I would want to hack my messenger into a pannier, I don't want a stiff backing on my messenger, and I don't like saggy panniers. But if it were a permanent fix, maybe I'd get a new messenger just to pannierize....
If you guys need product testers, I happen to live nearby in San Carlos, CA, and happen to attach all my product reports to a case of beer ;)
I’m trying to pass my first bribe

Inappropriate? All our best product ideas start with beer.

Inappropriate?Well our designers have heard your requests and have started working on some designs. I sat in on the first brainstorming meeting and they have some great ideas. There are a bunch of really cool projects that our product development team is working on so there isn't a timeline right now, but I'll keep y'all posted!

Inappropriate?Very glad to see this idea being kicked around. I, like a lot of other bike commuters, often ride to work with a change of clothes and a laptop (in my Commute).
For me, something sleak like the Wiki made with a waterproof liner and pannier clips on the back would be perfect in combination with a trunk bag to hold my clothes. Cheers and thanks for listening! -
Inappropriate? Can we see any pictures or sketches or anything? I'm really excited that this might become a reality!
If possible, it'd be awesome to have KLICKflix or Ortlieb-style quick release systems on them.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?I should elaborate... I like the idea of a messenger bag that doubles as a pannier.

Inappropriate?Bumping this up as a big YES PLEASE to panniers!
Also, the ExtraCycle link no longer works. :( -
Inappropriate?Nice idea. I recently purchased a set of Knogg Dutch panniers (http://www.knog.com.au/ProductDetails...) for their innovative system, absence of rack and design. Improvements? The paniers move from one side to another due to its only two attachement points, weak holders, too small pockets for PDAs and cells (also in Timbuk2) and too narrow bags. When you place a helmet inside, it seems that a big snake swallowed it. Give me a good reason to ebay them.
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Patience Grasshopper.... all will be revealed soon. Signs say that 2010 will be the time.....

Inappropriate?Wooo! Got the email just now! They're coming true!
Next: A bag for my cetma rack
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Next a messenger bag version of a carradice saddlebag. Something along the lines of what Rivendell sells.
But yes... this mess bag pannier is very nice too. :)
I’m excited
